I just watched the Legends of Wrestling episode where they discuss giant, and find myself agreeing with Pat Patterson's definition of a giant. To me, a giant is Andre, Big Show, Khali, El Gigante. Other panelists are throwing names in like Undertaker, Kevin Nash even Hulk Hogan.
I consider Big John Studd a giant, even though he's actually shorter than Kevin Nash, who I would not consider to be a giant. So do proportions make the giant? Does wrestling style make the giant? Does booking make the giant?
You decide.
What is a giant?

For me it's them being proportionally larger than life. Kevin Nash comes off as tall and lanky, not "huge" to me. Same with Taker.

A giant isn't determined solely by height to me. They also need to be a visual spectacle. So while I wouldn't consider someone like a Nash, I'd definitely include someone like King Kong Bundy.

Nash's height was always acknowledged, but it was never his defining characteristic. For me, a "giant" is anybody defined by his enormous size. That's Andre, Khali and Jorge Gonzalez. Even Big Show is more multidimensional than the "giant" tag (or, at least, he's become more than a giant.)

I guess it depends on if you mean just in the confines of wrestling, or as people.
Seeing him in the ring with other wrestlers The Rock didn't look that huge, but in person he's a freaking behemoth of a man.

A giant is really defined by who you choose to match him up against. Put prime Hogan in the ring against Rick Mcgraw, or Johnny Rodz and you've got a giant. Put Hogan in a ring with Stud or Uncle Elmer and suddenly your Giant isn't so big. A good example of a giant without anything going for him was Silo Sam. The guy was tall as a house but looked like a bean stalk with a beer belly. Put hi in the ring with a guy with a physique, and people would have to suspend their disbelief to believe he was a threat no matter how tall he is.

A wrestler whose gimmick is their size.
This is why I'd think of King Kong Bundy before Undertaker.

Really depends on the question. You can usually tell from the facial structure alone whether someone is an actual giant or just a big guy. Big Show, Khali, El Gigante, Andre, Giant Silva - these are giants. Kane, Undertaker, Nash... they're just really f***ing tall.

Hogan was a giant in Japan, but didn't really work that gimmick much in the states by comparison.
That said, size counts, since you can be a monster heel and not be big(like Taz), but you do need to be giant to be a giant, since duh.
