The announcers were a bit shitty for his debut. It was almost...
"It's.....Sting"

I thought Cole's commentary for the debut was great

Sometimes I prefer the announcers to be pretty quiet during debuts. This was one of those times.

I thought Cole sold the moment reasonably well. JR would've indeed lost his shit though.

Cole and Lawler did fine with the commentary I thought. JBL apart from his line about him winning those championships not so much.

Cole and King were great. JBL couldn't decide whether to be pleasantly surprised or stay in the Authority camp.

Surprisingly, Cole and Lawler did their part to make Sting arriving in WWE feel special.

I actually preferred JBL over the two.
Part of him was still a heel
Part of his was MARKING OUT BRO

His debut has already been weakened IMO by the mere fact that the evil authority figures he vanquished really aren't gone, and have been replaced by another evil computer authority figure. So really how effective were Sting's actions anyway?

To be honest I haven't watched in a long time. But I thought that JR was the one who called Stings return when I watched the youtube clip. I just hope they send him out the right way. I was really hoping he'd hold out and be the only WCW wrestler to never step foot in a WWF/WWE ring. Just to see if WWE would still put him in the HOF.

My only gripe is Cole not calling the Scorpion Death Drop, but complaining about Cole not calling moves is beating a dead horse.

Cole's OH MY GOD and JBLs THE ICON, THE FRANCHISE, etc were great imo. Thought they did a very good job of selling Sting as a huge deal.

JR would probably have ignored the whole thing to talk about how he'd book the "territory" and how much he loves Bill Watts. Like he did when Sting was on his podcast. I think poor Stinger spoke about 8 words.

JR always sold debuts and returns like the guy was the biggest deal in the world. Just listening to some of his announcing for Kane or Rock returns genuinely sells them as huge moments. Cole either flubs them or oversells them badly. His yelling into the mike when The Rock came back a few weeks ago was painful to listen to. So, so obviously fake. JR sold that stuff like a champ.
