It's been great to see Bryan on TV again. Obviously it's hard to tell his health status just from looking at him, but he looks to be doing alright.
What are your thoughts on him being back on TV, the little WWE.com interview with Cole, and everything else? Is it one of those, "hey let's put him on screen so people don't forget about him" things, or do you think WWE has a (non-kayfabe) timetable for his return, and might be slowly planting seeds to a big surprise at the Rumble or thereabouts?

I just approve of his now long hair and beard. He looks like a grappling Jebus.

He looks like he was kicked out of Mumford and Sons, but it is good to see him again

I'm still hoping for him to be a surprise Royal Rumble entrant, but him being on TV too often leading up to the rumblr might make it obvious. Still stoked to see him looking healthy, though.

He's a big part of the Mania 31 advertising last I saw and the talk has been that he will play a big role in Mania whether wrestling (which they hope for) or in something non-physical so they are probably gearing up for that.

He looks well, but it's no gauge as to how well his recovery is going/if he'll fully recover sadly. Not being able to do an extremely physically-intense activity anymore and being gravely ill/disabled are two very different things. For example, Punk looks healthy now, but I doubt his body will ever fully heal from what he put it through based on his shoot interview.

Wish he'd at least cut his hair. Agreed with this. With the Authority out of power and Bryan officially becoming a top guy, there's no need for the Troll/B+ Player/"Goatface" narrative Once he's back full time, it's time to reinvent himself from being the "underdog" into being a guy to beat.

He's my favorite wrestler. I was happy to see him again.
I'd love to see him be a surprise #30 to win the Royal Rumble. I'd probably cry tears of joy. Right now, I'm just happy to see him and I will enjoy it while I can.
I've watched so much of the dude's work for over a decade that if this IS the twilight of his career, I am a satisfied customer.

A positive is that in his most recent interviews he did say that he was getting some strength back in his arm. He said there was no timetable for his return, though.

Minor Smackdown spoiler: {Spoiler}Apparently Bryan is asked on the show if he will return soon and his answer is a yes chant.
Now, that could just be something to pop the crowd on the show, but it would be weird if he said that, they aired it and then he came back like 6~9 months later.

The fact that he's on tv to me implies that he may be back for Mania, but won't be for the Rumble. Otherwise it would make more sense to bring him back around then as a big surprise/push for the show, rather than "Oh Bryan's back, yay"

So you want him to change his iconic look-- and make no mistake about it, whether you like his look or the narrative, it is his iconic look-- and shave and get a haircut so that he can look like some wack-assed modern day Bob Backlund? He can be taken seriously as the guy to beat without changing his look with the proper booking and presentation.

I think they were pretty obviously trying to hide the shape he's in on Raw - if you notice throughout that opening segment he had the sleeve for his good arm rolled up but kept the right one down, and the shirt seemed to be very baggy on him like it was there to hide how small it's gotten.

Wish he'd at least cut his hair. That seems like something to hold back for a heel turn ... presuming he is able to return as a face first.

It's just that Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson's appeal to me has always been that he looks like, as you said, a "wack-assed modern day Bob Backlund" but inversely stood out and got reactions purely through his physical charisma in the ring. I wish we had more guys like that.

Maybe they want him on TV so he can improve his mic skills.

I just approve of his now long hair and beard. He looks like a grappling Jebus. In a recent interview with WWE.com, Brie reveals how handy Bryan is around the house, citing his amazing carpentry skills. She also talks about him being a home body, and keeping a small inner circle of roughly 12 friends.

Am I weird for thinking his arm thrusts for the YES chant may have exacerbated his arm issues? I mean, they got kind of weak just before he went out of action, and now they're back to full blown YESing. I'm reading far too much, into this, aren't I?
