do you think many wrestlers agree with Punk about overseas tours? yeah he specifically said European tours, but I believe he wanted to make aware that overseas tours in general were/are a pain in the ass for the workers
I don't know if I, as a fan from Germany, should like this attitude. I remember back in November 2010 how everyone except the beaten-up vets (Edge, Show, Rey) was in a good/relaxed/fun mood at the hotel after the show during the middle of that European tour

He wasn't pointing out that they're a pain in the ass as much as he was saying that he would LOVE the time off but was pretty sure that they'd want him on the tour since he was the champion at the time.

From reading Jericho's recent book, it seems like some look at it as a time to party, but straight edge Punk wouldn't be getting wasted til all hours of the morning. Does sound like it could be a grueling schedule though.
Plus at that time Punk was injured and wanted to do the movie so he could have a relatively lighter schedule.

The European tours seem to be pretty gruelling for everyone involved. The tours are normally two weeks straight and most, if not all, wrestle every night on the tour. I'm sure when they are in the arenas and performing they are happy but the constant travel, and being shuttled around the continent on tour buses must wear some guys out, especially if they are hurting/requiring surgery.

Remember these guys and gals are flying 12+hours in coach (unless they're lucky enough to have first class in their contract) and then when they land they cram on to buses which carry them to their hotel and then to the arena which are the only things they'll see most of the time. The first week of the tour is usually spent suffering from jet lag on top of whatever issues they have from wear and tear in the ring. Then they are working almost every night of the tour so they don't get the recovery that they would during North American tours. A lot of the guys and gals party because that and wrestle is all they can do.
Also, the above doesn't take into account things like finding a house and/or pet sitter if needed, being cut off from family and friends since some leave their cell phones behind and then all the paper work they have to do before hand (usually all while on a normal NA tour).
So while their 10 to 15 minutes in front of the crowd might be a great time, that other 23 hours and change can be a real pain in the ass.

IIRC, that was the part of the podcast where Punk was talking about the filming of 12 Rounds 2 conflicting with the European tour. I interpreted his frustrations being more about WWE/Triple H not having their shit together with his scheduling than being pissed off about going overseas.

It was about time off/him not being in a position to miss the tour/WWE not thinking of that, not about the actual hardships of the tour.

Yeah as an English fan I kind of felt let down by Punk's scornful attitude towards the European tours. But then I look at the schedule and realise how brutal it is, then its pretty understandable why the talent wouldn't look forward to coming over here.

I don't care what Punk or the others think about it. People in Europe/Asia/Australasia are contributing to WWE's success as much as anywhere else and they are entitled to their tours.
