I wouldn't be shocked if Heyman was brought in. He set his price super high because he didn't want to go and she wouldn't spend that much with with Hogan and Bischoff still on the book (if I remember right) but if they're not there who knows what she would have given him.
That being said, most likely TNA doesn't change at all. What we got for most of 08-09 would be what carried on into 10 and then with no improvement, growth or prospects for growth Spike cancels them in 2010 or 2011.

The other shoe was still going to drop eventually, but I think Hogan did encourage them to fly before they could walk, much less run.

Hogan and Bischoff brought a spark of life to TNA. It was must watch watch tv for me the first few weeks they were there. Looking back they were much better for TNA than most smarks give them credit for.

I think you've forgotten that the first few weeks of Hogan and Bischoff had The Nasty Boys who looked and smelled like they hadn't bathed since 96 feuding with 3D and Sean Morley facing Jeff Jarrett in a falls count anywhere match in the bathroom.

They probably would have done slightly better than they have, not by much.

TNA was progressing really nicely in 2009 on a conservative budget and getting their biggest ratings yet with the Main Event Mafia angle. Then came 1/4/2010... Yeah didn't they break 2 million viewers in 2009 a couple of times?

Same position, different scapegoat If I could like this post seven times, I would. There wouldn't be very much of a difference at all.

If they didn't give Hogan so much money, they'd still have AJ.

In fairness, TNA bringing in Hogan and Bischoff was a smart move because those two have revolutionised the industry before. What was NOT smart was giving them creative control. And it shows something symptomatic in TNA, which is having good ideas and then f***ing them up the ass. If Hogan and Bischoff had never come to TNA, we'd probably be in the exact same place now. It's not like things got any better when those two left.

I recall being quite intrigued by them coming in, and actually quite liked the Hardy heel turn (outside of the grammatical errors). But beyond that they killed any 'identity' that TNA had. To a certain degree I think Hogan damaged his legacy by being associated with the degrading product (which he undoubtedly had a hand in to be fair) for so long. I know i damaged my ability to view TNA by trying to stick with it as long as i did....... If they hadn't come in? No Nasty's/Bubba The Love Sponge/Decrepit Flair/NW-woah? More money to spend on actual wrestlers maybe?

Janice probably wouldn't have started hitting the Budget Cutter on everything in sight if they didn't throw away so much cash on Hogan. The money used toward his salary could've paid for Zema and Sorensen's medical issues.

Either you bring in Hogan and Bischoff for the direct creative revolution you claim that are capable, or you don't and their past revolutionary action is meaningless in their value as performers. TNA was going to crash and burn regardless, because Dixie Carter is only good at one thing, and that is burning money so she doesn't destroy anything valuable, but Hogan and Bischoff were only going to bun TNA faster, because that is the game Bischoff plays.

Those shows were pretty incredible and the best they could have possibly put on with their roster.

Hogan was a good hire they just never used him correctly. He should have been out there promoting TNA talking about it in interviews. He could bring in fans who had never heard of TNA. If they forged an identity as something different from WWE maybe they could have and carved a lasting position for themselves and Hogan promoting for them could have worked great for that.
Still from a pure layman's perspective I think Bruce Prichard was the biggest problem TNA had outside of Dixie herself.

IF Hogan and Bichoff didn't come to TNA that wouldn't change the fact that an idiot money mark is in charge of the company and would have found a way to run it into the ground. If rumors are to be believed Russo's incident had at least a little to do with with the decision to drop them from spike. BichHUlk had nothing to do with that.

Russo was also on a tear, booking TNA's best stuff in ages in 2009 before Hogan and Bisch came in and made Russo go bye-bye. I don't understand how the logical decision after Hogan and Bischoff had left was not to try and bring Russo back and recapture what he had going then. There's a lot of finger pointing to be done at Russo but this is not one of them.

My own personal tastes cause me to disagree that 2009 was TNAS "best stuff" The X division was dead, Desmond Wolfe was being wasted, Sharkboy became Stone Cold Steve Austin, there was a Christmas tree match. I hated it. I am more of an early days of TNA guy or Fox Sports Net fan myself. Russo couldn't touch Scott Scott D'Amore

Still from a pure layman's perspective I think Bruce Prichard was the biggest problem TNA had outside of Dixie herself. I've said the same thing more than once. TNA needed to use Hogan the way WWE is using him: as a spokesman and brand ambassador. His purpose should have been to raise the company profile and move merchandise, period. And why they allowed him to talk them I to bringing in so much dead weight us beyond me. They didn't need Bischoff, they already had writers and bookers. They didn't need the Nast Boys, Brother Brutus, or Brooke Hogan. That was all just blown money.

I remember lots of interviews with Hogan where he didn't mention TNA once. I have a hard time believing TNA didn't at least ask him nicely to mention their company.
But Hogan probably brotherjackdude'd himself out of doing it.
