When will the great movie experiment resume? Wait, you mean you guys didn't receive the telepathic broadcast? *sigh* Guess I'll have to go back to written reviews. aimez-vous Sylvester Lefort? hope I did that right This just made me realize how long it's been since I've watched pro wrestling. But it's nice to have a French character who's actually portrayed by a French wrestler in the WWE and from what I understand, it looks like he's not even the "cheese-eating surrender monkey" type! Why are your train tickets so small? Seriously came back from Paris on Sunday I'd like to know. They are? I didn't realize they're smaller than anywhere else. Are you sure you're talking about trains and not the metro or R.E.R.? On the song "Renegade" off the Blueprint album, did Eminem really murder Hov on his own shit? Actually no. He murdered Hov on his mom's spaghetti. How cold is it in France as I will be in Paris next month? Well I live hundreds of kilometres away from Paris but over here it's getting pretty damn cold, between 5°C and 10°C. Will you resume your movie experiment? Can you add a rule for that experiment, stating that someone cannot add a movie to your list until you see the previous movie they recommended? That list got really long really fast. Did you really hate "Massacre at Central High" that much? First question: Yes. Second question: Hm, I dunno. Thing is, I do want to keep the list in check but I don't want to do something that might discourage people from making suggestions altogether. Third question: Oh yes. Just everything about it is terrible. Acting, special effects, writing, acting, dialogue, acting, directing, editing... did I mention how bad the acting is? It doesn't help that it's taking itself so seriously. I don't mind a silly, poorly made movie as long as it has some level of self-awareness and is having fun with it, but that it feels so much like the makers of this thing are convinced it's an important masterpiece only makes it even more grating to me. It probably doesn't help that, as I often do, I then searched the Internet to see what other people think of it, and to see so many people rave about how clever it is, comparing it to f'n Animal Farm of all things, downright pissed me off. It's a big pet peeve of mine: stupidity passing itself off as cleverness. Is it true there is a place in France where the ladies wear no pants? Also, can you tell me the location of the hole in the wall where the men can see it all? For research reasons... Pants have been outlawed in 1907. We spray-paint fake ones on our legs to mess with the tourists. And no. Do you blame Monaco? It's not even a real country anyway. Monaco is Lili Rochefort's birthplace and as such OK in my book. Would the US have won independence without the French navy? I think so as bringing reinforcements from the UK wasn't easy and they were already fighting on several different fronts, but I also believe it would have taken a lot longer and would have caused far more casualties.

Can you name another piece of art in the Louvre that isn't the Mona Lisa?

Do you like wine? If so, what's your favorite kind? (I'm a Bordeaux man myself)
What else do you drink? Do you go for beer or liquor very much? If so, what kind?
What are your opinions on your schooling? Do you think you got a good education?

Can you name another piece of art in the Louvre that isn't the Mona Lisa? The Venus of Milo and the Victory of Samothrace are the first two that come to mind. Do you like wine? If so, what's your favorite kind? (I'm a Bordeaux man myself) What else do you drink? Do you go for beer or liquor very much? If so, what kind? What are your opinions on your schooling? Do you think you got a good education? I do like wine and I prefer white ones (which is fitting for an Alsatian man as we produce several world-famous ones), especially to accompany some nice salmon or foie gras. I'd say I am fond of Gewürztraminer. I don't drink very often, especially as I don't like to drink outside of meals (and even then mostly on special occasions and/or at a restaurant). Aside from wine, my favourites are shandy for low-alcohol content (oes shandy even count as an alcoholic drink?) stuff and rum and marsala for stronger stuff. Not a beer fan myself, except for the Licorne brand as it tastes less bitter than most. That's not a question, professor.

Second question: Hm, I dunno. Thing is, I do want to keep the list in check but I don't want to do something that might discourage people from making suggestions altogether. I just want to comment that the length of that list is what prevented me from adding anything to it. When browsing through the thread you see two or three people adding movie after movie after movie to it, I figured that if I suggested another movie you wouldn't be getting around to seeing it until 2016 so why bother. I think the list is a fun idea, and it's interesting to hear what you (and everyone else for that matter) have to say about these choices, I just thought that by limiting how often people could add to the list would open up the gates to a wider variety of cinematic experiences. ... like "Massacre at Central High". Guess I need a question: Have you seen "Message From Space"? 1978 Japanese sci/fi film with Sonny Chiba and Vic Morrow?

(and BTW, don't feel forced to psot questions if you just want to make observations. I just wanted an excuse to make that Simpsons reference ) Do you prefer making love with or without your socks on? Ha! Implying I get laid.

did you pay D.i.G his royalties for both this and the last thread? Absolutely. Since these threads are worthless, I have already paid him his 5% share of nothing. We make good business partners.

On the song "Renegade" off the Blueprint album, did Eminem really murder Hov on his own shit? I don't think so, but Frank Ocean rocked Hov pretty hard on "Oceans" from Magna Carta Holy Grail. To SsnakeBite: How popular are (often French language) Belgian franchises like Tintin and The Smurfs where you are?

Chateau Lafite, or Domaine de la Romanée-Conti? (Yes, I know one's Bordeaux, and the other one is Burgundy...lol) Never had either. Extremely popular. There's a good reason why European comics are often referred to as "French-Belgian comics", both countries have a rich history in the medium (possibly even predating American and Japanese ones) and it is very popular in both countries, so of course franchises that are popular in one country are usually also popular in the other, not to mention French artists and writers often work for Belgian publications and vice-versa and you often have people from both countries pre-published in the same magazines. To give you an idea of how popular they are over here, last May, an original Tintin sketch was sold for over 2.5 million euros, almost doubling the World record for most expensive original comic book sketch ever sold, previous held by... another Tintin sketch.

Do you own a beret and/or striped shirt?
Is it true that you can find out how old a frenchman is by cutting him in half and counting the rings?
Why is your English better than mine?

I do not own a beret. I do own a striped shirt but it doesn't really resemble the "French stereotype" ones. No, that's the Swiss. Because I had to learn the exact workings of the language for years and so the rules of grammar and vocabulary come flowing in my head each time I use the English language. In fact, it seems to be a general fact that when people become fluent in a language other than their own, they speaking it in an uncannily perfect manner, especially once they lose the accent, because they're not used to the imperfections that come with using it since birth (or soon after birth anyway). I've heard foragers who were fluent in French and yeah, there tends to be the same effect.

Hopefully this wont count as political...
Do the French as a whole hate and despise the Dauphin, Charles VII? He did let Joan of Arc do all his dirty work, then stabbed her in the back after all.
Also in the video game Speedball 2, which team do you consider French?
