You're using reason?! GET THAT SHIT OUT OF HERE!!! THIS IS AN INTERNET FORUM!!! WE DON'T USE REASON!!! ESPECIALLY WITH SUPERSWEET'S ASS!!! So what did the Cowboys do to give them the win that wasn't ref assisted in the second half? Score on every single second-half drive. Outscore the Lions 17-3 in the second half. End the game on a 17-0 run. Force an interception on the first Lions play of the second half. Stop the Lions on the final drive of the game, even after a potentially back-breaking fumble back to the offense. I mean, should I go on? Or are we still saying the refs were the only reason Dallas won this game?

Honestly I'd really rather have lost close than win in such a dubious fashion. Now, the only thing that people are gonna talk about is how the Cowboys got bailed out by the referees and don't deserve to be playing next weekend. They're wrong though. They can spin it that way, and act like one horrible call cost the team the game, but who cares? If that call was came early in the game, it would be relatively meaningless. It came in a late drive where the Lions had made adjustments and finally started driving the ball. Had that flag not been picked up and Dez gotten the unsportsmanlike conduct call he should have gotten, they would have had a 1st and 10 in the red zone. That was a critical moment and it was taken from the Lions. Add to that the fact that the Cowboys got away with a few offensive holding calls in that go ahead drive and people, particularly Lions fans, have a good reason to be butthurt about the officiating. Is it the only reason the Lions lost? No, but it played a significant role because of when it happened.

I'm not saying that the Lions couldn't have to over come the terrible terrible crooked refs I'm just saying that they shouldn't have to and would have won otherwise.

This kind of reminds me of the Tuck Rule game from the 2002 AFC playoffs. Did the Patriots benefit from an advantageous call? Damn right they did. But in the minutes leading up to, and immediately following, that play, the Oakland Raiders did nothing but load the gun, point it at their collective feet, and pull the trigger. Oakland led that game 13-3 going into the fourth quarter. The Patriots were lifeless until Tom Brady scrambled for a touchdown to make it 13-10 with about eight minutes remaining. From that point on, Oakland gave the Patriots every opportunity in the world to take the game from them. The Raiders had a 2nd and 3 with 2:31 left, holding onto a 13-10 lead, and they couldn't get the three yards to close it out. People also forget that after the fumble was ruled an incomplete pass, the Patriots had 2nd and 10 on the Oakland 42, well out of field goal range on that snowy and windy night. But on the very next play, David Patten picks up 13 yards, gets in Adam Vinatieri's range, and the game goes to overtime. Then, in OT, the Raiders made J.R. Redmond and Jermaine Wiggins look like the second coming of Curtis Martin and Ben Coates. Hell, Oakland had the Patriots to 4th and 4 on the first drive of overtime, and they gave it up. So like tonight, while some people see a suspect call that cost a team the game, I see a team that blew plenty of chances to finish it off. You know something else about the Tuck Rule game people forget? The Raiders had a chance to finish off New England BEFORE THAT HAPPENED! www.patspulpit.com/2013/3/23/4139768/fan-notes-from-the-tuck-rule-game

As a Rams fan the only team I hate is the Patriots, but I'm really starting to hate Dallas now after tonight. I hope Green Bay kicks their ass something like 65-0 next week lol.
On another note, I really hope that Carolina goes all the way and wins it all just to watch the reactions.

I'll still say this. In all my years of watching the NFL, I've never seen a referee throw a flag, announce the call, and then a minute later be like..."Oh, my bad. The whole thing was a big mistake! No call!"
Do you really think the road team would have gotten that?

Even the Patriots/Panthers controversial 'Pick up the flag' situation took less time than this.
