Right up there with the 2014 Oakland Raiders. Unless Impact is being taped in one of those super stadiums that Texas high school football is played, taping a show in a high school gym when you suppose to the number 2 wrestling promotion in the US is bush league. No amount of tarps, trick camera shots, and Christmas lights will change that. Agreed. It's tough to look anything but indie in a high school gym. I mentioned before that TNA should take the OVW approach. Roller rinks and similar venues sell for as little as $250,000 (the price varies considerably depending on location, size, etc.). Buy one in a wrestling starved area or some place with a proven wrestling fan base and turn it into the TNA Arena or what have you. Whether you agree with the idea, the fact is TNA has thrown much more money away on much less logical things. I think you can make the argument that ROH is now the 2nd wrestling promotion in the US right now. With the dwindling ratings, lack of shows, slashed PPVs, pitiful attendance and buys and other factors in TNA now.

It was bad, like, one positive with it is after Slammiversary, there were some bright spots on the programming, so that's a positive. No more Hogan was a plus, so it might outdo 2013 in that. 2012 had their last run of greatness which peaked at the Austin Aries title win, and then went on the downward slide with the Aces and 8s.
The fact that it lost TV though could also be attributed to the prior years, though 2014 didn't help. It will be up there with the worst though, but not the worst.
Personally I'd put down 2010 as their worst year as others have said, mostly due to the lost opportunity and they were given the ball and not only fumbled, but went off with a career ending injury.
I'm thinking of a bunch of other TNA notes I want to run through here:
Magnus was thought of as being the next big pro wrestling star, and went from that to being Bram's sidekick. TNA's desire to appease talent leaving did a number on him, as he should have beat Sting and AJ Styles clean as a whistle to further establish him.
Eric Young as Champion would have been better if they built it. However, Eric Young was a stronger champion and presented better then Daniel Bryan, but that's not really a compliment for TNA.
Bobby Lashley was a bright spot in the company and was a great monster to have as Champion but it would have been better if Bobby Roode won the title at Bound for Glory and they had a proper BFG series, but I guess that was an issue with TNA this year and their bulk tapings.
ECIII was also another bright spot, along with Rockstar Spud and their feud is actually something interesting going into 2015.
MVP also was a huge positive in that he became the best talker overnight by simply showing up. Mr. Anderson got a little less obnoxious, but he still has to work on that.
I think everyone will agree though that Samuel Shaw and Willow are duking it out with the Bellas as the worst people in wrestling in 2014. Samuel Shaw plays the character well, but everything thrown at it is complete garbage, and Willow is just Willow.

I think you could make the argument that any indie at this point is the number 2 promotion in America seeing as most of them draw larger crowds than TNA and I wouldn't be surprised if their IPPV's get more views than any of TNA's Matt Hardy, TNA Star Matt Hardy, is often tweeting about indie shows he works on and how large the crowds are. If must be weird for him to then appear on the number 2 promotion in America and work in front of less people.

In-ring there was some good stuff...but then the previous years say the same.
And outside of the ring, dear God, what a disaster and almost a fatal one.
So 2014 has got to be one of the worst they've had, despite what Dixie might smokescreen. Next year is the final roll of the dice for them.

I don't see 2015 being much better. Take all of the issues they had this year, slash the budget and star power in half, and put them on a little seen network. Not exactly a recipe for recovery. I kind of agree and kind of disagree. They're going to a smaller network with less viewers and money. That is a negative. The big difference though is that Destination America wants to build TNA. Now Spike was a great deal that for the most part let TNA do whatever they wanted, but in recent history, it's always kind of been on Spike's backburner in terms of what to promote. I guess it all depends on how committed TNA really is to starting over. That's what happens when you don't have a plan B when something fails.
