Is Impact Wrestling finished as a live-PPV entity? Does this mean the likes of Lockdown, Slammiversary and BFG are going to be either taped or Destination America TV specials?

I think it makes more sense for them to eradicate PPV's anyway, because no one watches theirs and they put the best stuff on Impact anyway so people can actually see it.

Especially after Bound for Glory was basically a Japanese house show its time for them to stop ppvs altogether.

It certainly didn't help when TNA made sure that nothing interesting would happen on the PPVs.

It certainly didn't help when TNA made sure that nothing interesting would happen on the PPVs. Or put any effort into building them up. Numerous times a main event of a PPV was decided on the go home show. Styles and Roode was literally made seconds before the show went off the air. The last time TNA actually put effort into a PPV and made it seem like that you have to buy this show was BFG 2009 and I felt it was money well spent afterwards. If TNA refuses to put any effort into shows and actually resents having to build them up and put focus into even their biggest show of the year, why should we have to shill out 40+ dollars to watch?

TNA shouldn't have PPVs or House Shows. If they can get everything together, They should just tape one episode of Impact a week.
The only reason TNA has PPVs is because "that's what WWE, WCW, and ECW did".

They were pretty good at having title changes show up on the Impact after a PPV, so no wonder no-one bought their shitty shows.

Not having set dates where something "has" to happen might be the best thing that ever happened for their booking team.
Part of my issues with the WWE has always been that there's a feeling of throwing shit at the wall to fill out a PPV card every 3-4 weeks.

Impact Wrestling doesn't have ppvs, TNA does.
Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either.

Impact Wrestling doesn't have ppvs, TNA does. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either. I love how like 5 years later, they still don't seem completely sure on either name themselves.

On this general topic I really don't understand why "Pro-Wrestling" is turning it's back on PPV?
A quick Google search tells me in 2013 WWE made $82 million from PPV revenue. The figure for 2014 will be much less due to The Network (which doesn't have a chance of making that amount).
TNA has never really placed that much importance in PPV as a revenue stream (god only know why?) - so from a business point of view it all seems like a massive waste of potential income to me...

Nobody buys TNA's PPVs - their most successful PPV ever still did significantly worse than December to Dismember did in being considered an absolutely disastrous buyrate when the two shows' ratings weren't that far apart. As for WWE, they want to move away from it because they get majorly ripped off on PPVs. The reason they're able to offer them so cheap through the Network is that the cable companies rob them blind on the things.

I get that nobody buys TNA PPV's but they should be doing something to change that. Not giving up completely.
When the numbers are released for 2014 most expect WWE's PPV revenue and DVD sales to be way down on 2013 - and it doesn't look like the WWE Network will replace that income. As a fan I think the WWE Network is great but it represents a huge change to their business model - and so far it hasn't been successful for them.

We demanded TNA toured and while they were hot (2008-11) it was good but the focus was lost and shifted TV only and the shows suffered. Take em off the road for a while and regroup
