I doubt anyone is watching tonight's Best of Impact. I just turned it on and it was Havok's debut. Earl Hebner was the ref for the match before she came out.
I don't know if I've made it clear in previous Impact threads, but Earl Hebner f***ing sucks. Just wanted to get that down, for posterity.

Earl is truly one of the worst officials of all time. The way he hardly ever looks at the shoulders at all and pulls his count makes it hard to suspend any disbelief.
He f***ing sucks. So does Havok.

He's a brutal interview too. He was on Busted Open a month or so ago and while I will give some credit to him being nervous and naturally not much of a talker it was really hard to get through. The hosts were struggling and you could tell they knew it was going really bad right off the get go too. He came across as just a shell of a person. So maybe he does have some underlying problems I don't know of.

He might just be getting too old for the job. How old is he anyways? Has he ever talked about retirement? I'd hate to think he's still working simply because he doesn't think he can afford to retire.

Wiki says he's 65. I'm sure he's only around with TNA because he's getting an easy paycheck. Not like reffing is hard work, and not that long ago he was making out with Madison Rayne, so he's got nice perks.

The thing I hate about him most is TNA trying to push him as a star the first couple years he was there. We don't need him comically interacting with the Knockouts, we don't need him grabbing the mic at the ECW arena and telling the fans how stupid they are, and Im pretty sure when fans pay for the meet and greet they'd like to meet wrestlers and not referees.
But of course TNA likes him, he was on wrestling television in the 90's. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why they use Atlas security too.

He is pretty rotten nowadays. The worst example of refereeing I've ever seen, (and TNA is a bad example of it) is during a Lethal Lockdown match. Garret Bischoff hits his finish on Christopher Daniels. and instead of getting down to count the pin, he just walked past them. I think Wrasslor Monkey on here and tumblr has a gif of it, but I was amazed. Like, yeah, it probably wasn't the finish, but the ref could have at least got down to try to make a count. I like what WWE has done in recently years where the referee calls it like a shoot, and if someone doesn't kick out, it's their fault. If the shoulders aren't on the mat, ref doesn't count.

I've said for years and years that he is the number one offender at making pro wrestling look fake and he's been doing it for 25 years. I've never understood why no one, not Vince, not Pat Patterson, not Hogan ever got onto him for using a different freakin' count for kickouts. He's been doing it for the whole time I've been watching wrestling and it takes me out of every match he's reffing because you know its not going to be the 3 count because his knee 'slips' every time, until its the real 3 count and he counts normal. Not to mention he will look around like he's distracted by things and takes shitty bumps when he gets hit. He was an awful referee then and even worse now.
