No. Maybe it was backstage telling him but he became a known it all jackass.
And it sure didn't help when cole and Lawler was burying him(and grisham)

Absolutely not. He was mostly insufferable.

His WWE history needed work, but when a commentator who wants to actually CALL A MATCH and get called out for it makes me sad. I also liked a lot of his in-jokes (and not just his insider wrestling ones) when he would talk about guys.
Calling Batista "Altered Beast" amused me.
Implying Del Rio was two faced (callback to "Dos Caras") in one exposition impressed me, too.
Would have loved to hear how he would work in other's pre-WWE history

I can tell you what I don't miss about him..
Him wrestling in Trunks that were to Small for him.
I really didn't need to see his Butt Cheeks, especially when stuck in a last ride or something like that.

As bad as JBL and Alex Riley are, they've never spoiled the ending to a PPV. I've never felt disappointed or ashamed of Matt Striker the way I feel every time I hear Riley on commentary.

One of the worst commentators they've ever had.

Never understood the negative reaction to Striker. I always found the info he'd drop about people really interesting.
Of course, I was mostly watching him on ECW instead of on PPVs. That's probably the main difference.

I miss his enthusiasm and his actually paying attention to the product. I miss announcers actually calling the movies.
On the other hand, I don't miss "I'm marking out bro" and other things like that.
I'll take his stupid calls like that though over Michael Cole and JBL talking about the Great f***ing Gazoo

The commentary on Lucha Underground is so much better than RAW or SD its not even funny. Even with some of Striker's quirks and Vampiro's brotherbrotherbrother, its still great to listen to a commentary team that actually talks about and UP the product rather than just trying to get themselves over.

Matt Striker was one of two people who actually acknowledged that JTG stood for "Jayson The Gangsta". I thought it was 'Just That Gangsta'?

Oh God, No.
I don't want to even imagine him sucking up 5 minutes of wind at a time trying to come up with an unending series of nicknames for everyone on the roster now.
"That's Seth Rollins. The Architect, The Future, The Ronin, Black Gold, The Judas, The Hound of Injustice, The Age of the Fall of the Shield, God's Last Gift, The Toxic Terror of Davenport Iowa..."

I despise his politics, but other than that...I don't understand why everyone hates him so much. I thought his commentary was fine and continues to be fine in other outlets, and he really tries as a play by play guy when it comes to getting things right. What exactly is wrong with that?
Also, his late NXT season 5 feud with Darren Young is supremely underrated.

Another thing that Striker does is when he pronounces Mexican moves with that fake Hispanic accent. I'm waiting for the camera to cut to him and Striker is wearing a sombrero and Cesar Romero's mustache.

I miss him because he reminds me of that time commentary called the match.

I loved him. I felt bad when they started burying him and telling him to make up incorrect facts.

As an announcer in ECW, he was amazing and made the matches interesting and each wrestler unique (look at how he hyped up Bao Nguyen)....when he went over to Raw and Smackdown, it felt like a downgrade as he was a small fish in a big pond....
I'm actually glad he's no longer there and is able to announce for Lucha Underground and the occasional Championship Wrestling from Hollywood match that I catch on YouTube....seems to be more content and back to his ECW self.
