I think it was Destination X 2007 where the intro was a sweet package hyping "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage and his sweet heel run as champ I remember thinking that the package was almost classic, but not quite there. I thought maybe the next PPV or one within the next year would be have a package even sweeter that would really make Christian look great. Of course Kurt Angle came in not too much later and Christian never got back to quite being in the spot he was then. I kind of wish I would have appreciated that package more for what it was and not expect more. It was a pretty sweet package on par, if not better than just about anything WWE has put together to push Christian as a singles star. That's really saying something considering how superior WWE's production team is over TNA.

Granted this is largely because Nikki made it work, but in hindsight the Roxxi Laveaux gimmick and look was cooler and more unique than I initially gave it credit for. Given that it was at first attached to the albatross that was VKM, I initially dismissed it.

The Main Event Mafia were amazing in retrospect.

The Main Event Mafia were amazing in retrospect. If they actually had a competent end game of putting over the Originals at the right time, it would have been one of the greatest things TNA ever did.

I will admit that I gave Rockstar Spud a hard time when he first debuted in TNA. But he evolved from annoying Ladyboy Chaser to one of the best things going currently in TNA. Bobby Lashley is another person. His previous TNA run left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. But once he hooked up with MVP and went full goon, his stock risen. I was one of the main people here who supported a Lashley TNA world title run during a time the idea was considered a bigger joke than Eric Young or Magnus as champ.

I like to judge things on the sum of their entire content, not just the current moment.
Living up to that, and taking into account the last few years......I don't think I've been hard enough.

When they first started to pull away from the "Original" way of booking the X Division and having the PCS (thought hilarious)I was mad to not have really great athletic and high flying matches.
I should have waited another year or two to start that complaint.

I was too hard on Bobby Lashley. He ended up being about the best part of the end

All the times I thought it couldn't get any worse The Main Event Mafia were amazing in retrospect. If they actually had a competent end game of putting over the Originals at the right time, it would have been one of the greatest things TNA ever did. Yeah, They fixed one of the problems of the New Blood angle from WCW, by making the Millionaires Club the bad guys... but uh... forgot they still needed to write a satisfying ending for it.

Didn't help that the Frontline looked like complete goobers compared to the MEM most of the time.

Jay Lethal's Machismo gimmick.
I really rolled my eyes into the back of my skull when he first started doing it. Its a good impression, but I had huge misgivings about just aping a former superstar from another company.
It turned out to be pretty darn entertaining.

When Bobby Roode turned heel in 2011, I was so pissed I stopped watching and swore to never come back because they managed to get me invested in the prospects of a Roode face run, and instead they turned him heel because Hogan thought he wasn't ready, brother.
But then, Roode turned out to be a great heel champion, and all the word of mouth got be back into the product months later, in time to watch Aries beat Roode for the title in one of the greatest moments in the company's history.

I was the same way with Lashley when he first returned, but not only did he bring it in his matches, but they booked him the best he's ever been booked & he ended up being the best booked World Champion of 2014.

Yeah, I was the same way; I actively swore off the show after BFG that year due to the ending. I'm trying to remember something stupid that was going on in WWE at the same exact time that had me hating wrestling as a whole, even independent companies that had nothing to do with any of it. Might have been the walkout angle.

I really liked MEM back in the day because of Booker and Steiner. And I actually kinda liked Sting as the reluctant heel. I just wish he stuck with it instead of going face again because Sting.

Also, too hard? I'm one of the people that constantly goes in on TNA and I don't feel the least sympathetic.
In fact, my New Year's Resolution is to wake up an hour earlier every day so I can hate TNA more every day.
