Does anyone remember a story circulating through the IWC back in '98-'99-ish where there was real heat between Bagwell and DDP because of something that Bagwell did to Kimberly? It seemed like they were kayfabe feuding at the same time, and I seem to remember tuning in to see them brawling and the shots they were giving each other looked pretty stiff. This might be more mainstream knowledge than I'm aware of.

Man any time somebody mentions Buff Bagwell, I get really really annoyed.
I seem to recall this too, although I could just be mixing it up with the DDP/Steiner stuff. It would probably make sense for DDP and Bagwell to dislike each other as Bagwell made an entire gimmick of being Scott Steiner's hanger on.

Bobby Heenan said they once tried to get themselves into an angle by spreading the word in the locker room that Buff had made a move on Kimberly. They let that stew a bit, then got in a fight in front of the boys. Bobby said he was talking to Fit Finlay, who elbowed him and pointed toward them. Bobby looked, turned back to Finlay, and said, "They're throwing working punches!" Finlay just laughed.
Bobby said it was the only time he had ever seen 2 guys try to get an angle by working the boys, but nobody really bought it.

This was right around the time that Russo came to WCW, so his love of worked shoots meant it got tv time. They actually had a really good match at Souled Out 2000, probably the best match on the show. Of course by then Russo was gone, then DDP went off to promote Ready to Rumble, so the storyline went nowhere.
