I hope people don't say "totes" for that much longer.

The future used to be so much cooler than it is now. Where's my hoverboard?! F***ing hell, we're like 10 months away from that future being the present, and then the past. And 90% of that shit hasn't even come out yet.

Man, I miss when Mike Adamle was on commentary. His chemistry with The Tazz was extraordinary and he made Kofi sound really cool by saying he Jamaican Me Crazy.

I doubt it. It will still be Michael Cole then, possibly with either JBL, King, or both.

If they ever go TV-14 again...
'Man, I remember back in the day when they cleaned up blood, the women dressed appropriately, no one swore and they had real comedy like Hornswoggle. THAT was sports-entertainment, not this wrestling crap. Bring back the PG era!'

I don't get the issue with the announce team.
They are a product of the time. during lower card stuff they have a bit of fun rifftracking on the show and the matches in a sort of "we're in on the joke, we know how terrible this is, its meant to be" way which is what everyones doing at home and on twitter anyway. during the important matches they calm that down and call them properly.
It's not 2000 anymore, what worked then wouldn't work now. Same way the announcing style of the 80s would have fell flat on its arse in the attitude era (I mean look how awful Vinces announcing comes across in like 1997)
I do wish there'd be less of them shouting "we're having such fun" over and over again, but you can tell that that's forced upon them.

So basically they're saying that the lower card matches mean nothing, and thats supposed to be a GOOD thing? Announcers like Solie or Monsoon or even Jim Ross would go to great lengths to make every match on the card, from Kato vs Virgil to Austin vs Foley mean something. Yeah, they had jokey stuff with the heel announcers as well, but it didnt dominate the commentary.

Vince's announcing in 1997? Pfft, why don't you pick a reference from this century? /Michael Cole

Or else they'll be like "Thank science that wrestling evolved past that shitty phase it was in like 10 years ago, can you imagine people had to sit through hours of Cole and King and lame crappy storylines?"

I'm pretty sure I'll still think Cole is terrible in the future. Whenever I watch an old match now I always think how great the Vince/JR/King combo was. I'm not imagining how good it used to be. It just was.
