Cards on the table, I wasn't that excited in the first place. I might've been, had he been off tv this entire time or something, but given how many years he was visible on TNA the whole thing was met with a big 'eh, whatever' from me. So I'll freely admit my perceptions are probably a little skewed.
But I'm curious, there's got to be even some people that were excited on the night it happened thinking 'that's it?' At least I would assume so, given the whole lotta nothing that's followed his appearance.
I've seen the argument bandied about that he shouldn't appear often to make the appearances special and things like that. I can agree with that, but it seems less like they're doing that, and more it's just them not actually having anything for the guy to do.
Thus far, this can't have been what people were salivating for for years right?
Maybe it's just me.

This is just one of those things that Vince is set on, with these big name guys that make rare appearances and disappear after.
I mean, sure things like Lesnar winning the title and Sting taking out the Authority are pretty big and exciting moments, but it makes no logical sense to believe that fans are going to be subscribing to the network or buying tickets to a show because of it, knowing full well that these superstars aren't going to be appearing again any time soon.

I would imagine this is what The Vigilante name is for. To justify his lack of appearances or explanation of those events. I don't find it anti-climactic because you've got the top heels regularly chewing him apart on TV, which is building excitement for him to randomly show up again. He's WWE's Batman, and that's good enough for me.

At the same time though, you've gotta follow through when major things happen. Especially with Sting, they should've at least had him appear the next night on Raw to explain why he did what he did, otherwise it's just something that happened.

I'd totally be ok if he showed up in WWE for the first time ever, just to help Dolph Ziggler win a match, then disappear forever.

He's watching each week from the shadows of the arenas, probably in his favourite spot the rafters, he's just got better at hiding from the cameramen than when he used to do it in WCW and TNA That's how it is in my headcannon anyway.

Sure, but obviously that's not realistic given talent bookings. Also, it would be too early to do that since it's not even 2015 and it's building to an event in April.

This time of year WWE seems to shift to neutral and just kind of spin its tires. As we head to Royal Rumble and the road to Wrestlemania he'll be back to start setting up a feud. Honestly, he's not wearing the WWE world heavyweight championship so I don't mind him disappearing without a trace for three months.
2014 has been the year of big moments at the big 4 ppvs...that are never followed up on. I'm hoping Royal Rumble is the exception. Either way, I suspect once we're out of the Christmas lull, Sting will be back.

My assumption continues to be it is to set up Sting vs Triple H at WM andvtheyvsre just trying to do a slow build.
A VERY slow build.

Sting waited too late.
Had he joined WWE in 2002 he could have built a great career there. He wasted years in TNA.
In 2014 he's old news.

No he's not.
He will return in a huge moment probably around Royal Rumble and it will be spectacular.

I would've loved him to come out on RAW the next night and talk about why he showed up, how he's glad the Authority is gone, and maybe had one more moment at the end of the show where Triple H figures he has nothing to lose so he attacks Sting... setting up a match at Wrestlemania.
But, I didn't expect him to be there at all.
It was all a stunt for the Network to be all, "You NEED the Network cuz you never know what'll happen on a PPV!" Nothing more.
I'm not saying they won't revisit it in the future, and I do think Sting working a match at Wrestlemania is a foregone conclusion. But other than that, I don't see him doing much.

I remember seeing a newz report that his contract was only for six dates. And that was counting Survivor Series.
