When he gets called up I mean. Obviously from the last few years, people have shown that they genuinely like Daniel Bryan, enough to force a change to Wrestlemania 30's main event. I know people don't like Bryan too, i've seen them post on here, but I think some would concede that he's likeable even though they're not fans.
I've seen this with Sami Zayn on NXT too. People genuinely like the guy. When he gets called up, could he eventually be in Bryan's underdog role? I mean not that he hasn't been on NXT with a long journey to the NXT Championship, but could casual viewers who know nothing about him, haven't seen him on NXT, grow to love him and genuinely like him as much as they do Bryan right now?

Very much so. That's probably his greatest strength, being likable and connecting with audiences.

I think Triple H was spot on when he said Sami was not going to be super over from the start, but would grow on the audience, into a main eventer. He's very likeable, the only issue is that Vince will very likely give him an underdog storyline, which they have a very poor track record with.

Crowd: "BOO YOU SUCK! GO BACK TO CHINA!"
Zayn: "But I'm not even Chinese I'm actually fr.."
Crowd: "BOOOOOOOOOO!" *throws thrash*

I think Sami Zayn has already demonstrated that he's "genuinely likeable" like Daniel Bryan, just with a smaller audience for now.
As long as the writers don't bury him too badly, he'll be the next super over good guy without question.
Also, Bayley can fill that role for the women's division easily.

Without question.
The title match vs. Neville at R-Evolution was small-scale evidence of that. Damn near everyone at Full Sail and those watching on The Network were horrified when Sami was tempted with using the NXT Title on Neville as a weapon, and cheered when he refused to.

Yes, but he'll have to face shitloads of obstacles WWE management put in his path, until finally they are forced to push him due to fan pressure.

If this match had happened on the main roster, Vince would have sadly gone through with turning Zayn heel.

As long as the writers don't mess it up.
Same goes for Bayley.

I think he is the next big star to break out. He will naturally earn his place. He won;t be made to look really strong and get a Roman Reigns push, but he will get the kind of protected and wait until we can't ignore this performer any longer push like Punk and Bryan.

He would, but they'd think it's "Ole" that's over, and not Zayn.

Zayn should be booked differently from Bryan. Bryan's story was being "the King of the Indies" trying to prove himself in the "big leagues". Zayn has accomplished that part already and should be brought to the main roster in a solid upper midcard spot rather than being the JTTS Bryan started as.

In some ways, yes, and those ways are extremely important in WWE. Zayn is incredible at selling emotion, and he's a better promo.
