I like Wiig but I hated her character, and honestly I don't think I liked anything in the movie. I liked the first one ok enough.

I enjoyed it, not as much as the original, but I still thought it was better than most comedy sequels.

Okay, I'm going to be in the minority of this discussion, but I liked it. I enjoyed the second one, but there really didn't need to be the bit involving Ron's blindness.
However, I didn't really care that much for the R-Rated cut. I saw both versions in theaters, by the way. I enjoyed the theatrical cut.

I wanted to like it more than I did. The first movie is seriously stupid but damnit I laughed through the whole thing from beginning to end. The second one had moments, they tried being a little more poignant with their news satire but it was not particularly intelligent satire so it kind of fell flat for me. The beginning was great with Ron being chased by a shark but then the way it was revealed that he got to that point wasn't really funny, the blind story went way too long and was never any good.

I watched it in one overly long sitting and thought it was some good jokes stapled to a far too long runtime.
The weird thing is, unlike most Ferrell-type improv-comedies, I didn't feel like it was too much improv. I felt like the actual writing of the movie was incredibly bloated. As people have said the lighthouse sequence, aside from the conversation about things he can't do because he's blind, was screaming for deletion. Comedies these days are too f***ing long but Funny People has more good jokes in its worst half hour than Anchorman 2 has in its whole runtime, and I hate Adam Sandler.

The "super-sized edition" on Netflix is better than the theatrical edition, but not by much and even that's not saying much.
I'll just generally agree with the majority opinion regarding the movie:
- The movie grinds to a screeching halt when Ron Burgundy goes blind and it doesn't recover until the anchor battle in Central Park, and by then you've wasted a solid 25 minutes of screen time.
- They gave Brick Tamland the Homer Simpson/Peter Griffin/Kevin Malone from "The Office" treatment, in that they took a dumb character, amplified his stupidity, and turned him into a mentally retarded child. Brick in the first "Anchorman" was obviously a buffoon, but there was an actual person there. In the sequel, he's just a cartoon character. And they devote entirely too much screen time to him. He's 1a in "Anchorman 2" to Ron Burgundy.
- The odd infatuation with Kristen Wiig continues. Outside of "Bridesmaids" and her brief role as Dewey Cox's wife in "Walk Hard", has she ever been funny? Her character in "Anchorman 2" was essentially the same character she plays on "Saturday Night Live", whether it's Gilly, The Target Lady, or the Lawrence Welk girl, they're all identical copies of the same goofy, awkward, aloof character. And they're all painfully unfunny.
- The sequel itself was just unnecessary and about five years too late. If you're going to release an "Anchorman" sequel nearly a decade after the original, you'd better put a decade's worth of work into it to make it as good as possible. Instead, it felt like "Dumb & Dumber Too", a blatant cash grab devoid of originality or humor.

Yeah, some of this might be spoilers.... but I'm so disappointed by this movie, i don't even care.
What bothered me about this movie is it seemed to follow the Hangover's style... where nothing funny was happening, they just screamed about situations that were occuring. Anchorman 2's comedy style seemed to be, one person freaks out while everyone else comments on them freaking out.
It ruined, otherwise good jokes.
Brick's funeral should've gone down, where they're all sad.... then Brick comes up to give his eulogy. They should've kinda been like "oh man"... then walked up, pulled him away while Brick was still talking.. then end scene. Instead, they sat there for five minutes while he's talking, trying to convince him he's not actually dead.
Honestly, I don't remember if I finished the movie.... I think I did... I just know about halfway through I zoned out and started doing dishes because I was so far beyond caring at that point.
The first Anchorman is still absolutely amazing, I can put it in at any time and laugh. I really wanted this one to be comparable, and i tcould've been... there were a lot of awesome, funny ideas that were beaten into the ground before they had a chance.

Thank you. His fall from grace in this movie is brutal. (Hell, his climb up to grace isn't much better.) It's a ridiculous way to redeem him. And he's wretchingly unlikable during much of it. I can mind a lot of this movie's weaknesses (chalk it up to "loved the original so much that it's just great to see them all again") but when he casts his friends off, I can easily fast forward to the Central Park scene without much guilt at all.

The brawl in Central Park was absolutely the worst. It was Family Guy levels of dragging a once decent joke to utter oblivion.
