The question is in the title. At the 1990 Survivor Series an egg which was carted around for months by the WWE was revealed to hatch Hector Guerrero in a turkey costume which was quickly canned after the PPV and never spoken of for another decade. But for those of you around at the time what did you think was in there and for those of you not around what should have been there?

Was there actually a long term plan for it though? Or just a general comedy skit that wasn't funny

I was expecting a new debut or an NWA signee....
As a young fan, I was expecting Sting or Luger....not El Pollo Loco Guerrero.

I love how it's painted as some kind of disappointment, as if debuting someone by having them hatch from a giant egg would have been a good idea.

Thought for sure it would be Ted Dibiase's mystery partner. Then after I learned his mystery partner was The Undertaker, I fully expected to see The Undertaker break out of the egg when I rented the tape several months later.
I should add I was 4 years old at the time.

I don't remember exactly what I expected from it, but I'm pretty sure we thought it would be a new wrestler debuting. Definitely wasn't expecting the Preposterous Pigeon we got instead.

Birdo.
I was 9 and played Mario 2 a lot.
Well, it had bulging eyes like Birdo, at least.

I was expecting something to do with WWF itself instead of a wrestler, like something about a new show or new toy line or such.
