It's a belated Christmas Miracle!!! Seriously I like the song but holy shit the over playment of the song is bad. Like 4/6 out of my radio station presets in my car plays that song.

I haven't heard it today either.
I think I've actually only heard it once or twice though because I don't listen to anything other than albums or internet radio that's set to my liking.

I've it heard it more times than I can count and I don't listen to the radio or watch music channels or anything like that. I think it was when I was watching an Elder Scrolls video and an ad for it ran on youtube as it loaded. Fortunately the TES video used the theme from Mighty Switch Force 2, so it more than made up for it.

How does it make you feel to know I don't even know the song you're talking about? Especially when I say regardless of who posts it I will not be watching ANY videos placed in this thread to try and create a frame of reference

Its just an okay song that about every radio station in the country plays all day everyday like its the greatest thing to ever happen to music since ears.

What I don't get is why it's getting such a huge ad campaign. Is the artist some guy the record labels are trying to make into a megastar?

Like one of the local rock stations was playing it since February or March and it was the only station that played the song. Now all the top 40 and current hits stations started playing it on fever pitch last month. So I'm guessing it actually topped the charts the by getting over with the natural slow burn organic push and now its being over pushed. Basically like now Cena got over for two years and then got mega pushed once he became WWE Champion

It's sexual and nibbles at religion in the same baited breath. People hear the title and think "that's what my reality singing shows say about good singers all the time" and then they pick up on easy metaphors, gets roused by it, ouila, "have you heard this POS song? It's really good. Forget that it's a POS song disguised with indie rock leanings." Dude does have a pretty amazing other song though. It reeks of hipster in its own manufactured way too, but it's at least not a veiled sucker job like this one. If this money-maker didn't exist, Id be pretty high on the other track I've heard.

I heard it for the first time during the Victoria Secret Fashion aka Hey Y'all It's Taylor Swift for a f***ing hour!!!
I heard that Take That to Church song during the show. I fell sorry for all of you who've heard it more than once. But there are other songs I've had the displeasure of hearing multiple times.
I think I'm gonna ban all hip hop stations in my car.

The radio station we listen to half the time at work is top 40 and I will hear this song 10 times in an 8 hour shift.

I f***ing loathe that wretched song. My fiancee loves it, so I get to hear it constantly. Seriously consider dumping her because of this song (Not really, but maybe. We'll see).

You know, the song's not even that annoying. I mean, when you consider all the songs that have been incredibly overplayed over the years, it has to be one of the LEAST annoying of them.

I like it. I generally only listen to classic rock stations or NPR in the car though, so I only listen to current music when I want to. I think i have both this and "Angel of Small Death & the Codeine Scene" downloaded, and usually pop that one on more frequently.

The way he sings it is infuriating and funny. I've taken to calling it Take Me To Derp, because he sings in that put-on, barely enunciating way, like it's too emotional for him to actually say. I don't know, he can sing but the whole thing screams pretentious douche.
It's hard to even judge these songs anymore though, because if you happen to watch television and listen to the radio, all of a sudden some indy rock song is in every commercial and on every radio station all the time, like out of nowhere. Which goes back to us being assholes and deciding to stop buying music, so now these guys gotta sell their music for car or phone commercials to replace that that income so they can payback their advance and fund their tours.
