The issue is, they AREN'T doing it with matches they can make money off. Who in the world would pay a dime to see Rollins, Kane, & Orton face John Cena & Dean Ambrose in their best of 1000 series? DQ finishes aren't bad but WWE makes it bad by doing them for matches no one could possibly care about. It's lazy, straight up. They use it as a crutch to put no thought in their main events because who cares, shit is gonna end in a scmhozz anyway? If everybody needs to protected to the point where every main event for like 2 months ends in a DQ, start booking some different matches. It's tough to book different matches when you have 100 tv main events to do every year, especially if the majority involve someone losing decisively, which is apparently what people want. True, but they could put in actual effort. What'd be wrong with, say, Cena vs. Miz one week, or Rollins vs. Big E or something? The third hour's ratings are going to suffer regardless (and typically when they do put somebody left-field on last like that it doesn't do too bad honestly), might as well at least have some variety instead of the one billionth Cena & ____ vs. Rollins & Kane match. And this is a problem all over the card. Just as easily they could be having one of the Usos face off with, I dunno, Fandango instead of them fighting the team they're feuding with over and over and over and over and over and over and...

silly wrestlechat.net, you're looking at it all backwards. Sure, only 34% of RAWs had decisive wrestling match finishes, but 66% had decisive "sports entertainment" finishes.
Think about it.

I'm really curious on how many Raw episodes ended with either a face or a heel standing tall over their rival with their theme playing us out to the ~ENTERTAINMENT~ vanity plate.

Also to note, out of those 18 clean finishes, Cena was involved in 8 of those. And he lost three. Those three...
1.) vs. Ambrose (Contract on a Pole) 2.) vs. Kane/Orton/Rollins (the street fight w/ the HIAC involved; Ambrose was pinned) 3.) vs. Rollins (Cage Match w/ Lesnar involved)
So Cena wasn't even pinned in 2014.

Does this stat account for matches that had pin/submission/stoppage finishes, but had interference in them?

Any stats on how many times Raw actually kicked off the show with a match in 2014? I'd guess the figure is extremely low.

How will people know it's Raw without a 20 minute promo? Very true sadly! My best guess for the last time Raw opened with a match is Koko B.Ware vs Yokozuna back in show 1.

I did some research, surprisingly, 1999 had 23 finishes,
There were 20 finiishes for Nitro in 1997.

I'd be okay with TV having DQ finishes if it meant we got actual finishes on the PPVs, but some of those have been pretty screwy this year too.

Having less clean TV finishes than "nWo running wild" 1997 WCW and Attitude Era 1999 WWF, three-quarters of which was written by Vince "Never booked a finish" Russo? I hope Kane got a nice Christmas bonus for all those run-ins.
