Jobs are run by people in the end. How's your relationship with your bosses on a personal level? If you can phrase it as "The best I can do is five days because of X" they might still be willing to give you a reference. I've left jobs with two days notice that I still have on my resume.

Two Week Notice is the rule of thumb, but if you have a good relationship with your boss and are just upfront about the necessity of the short notice, they should understand. Also, from personal experience, it's rare for a job to fill your position in those exact two weeks anyway.

Make all your bookings and drop the title to the baby face of their choice. Make him look really good on your way out, you may have to come crawling back if it doesn't work out in New York
