To some people, the UK doesn't exist. I'm still pissed off at no european release for the Zyuranger boxset.

I did find Biollante and Mechgodzilla 2 double box set on the French amazon which had some english subtitles. So there is hope if you dig hard enough.

Very true While i'd love all of em released besides Gojira (54) (as it's already out here), I'd be happy with the Heisei series Well vs King Kong, the 98 Movie and 2014 one are all available too. I don't count them because they suck

I dunno, Kong vs. Godzilla is one of my favorites, and 2014 really isn't that bad. It's not great, but I enjoyed 2014.

Only one you can really hate on is the 98 one

I don't even really hate it. It's not a horrible movie, just a terribly stupid one. It's fine on its own in that regard, or even as some remake of Beast From 20,000 Fathoms. It's just...not Godzilla. That said, I did really like the animated spin-off and the way Toho incorporated him into their own series was pretty cool.

Speaking of King Kong vs Godzilla hated the job they did to the blu-ray No title menu and no extras. It plays straight into the movie

It is often said that the 98 film would be better received if the monster was not named Godzilla.
I'll have to disagree. Even if the beast was named I dunno Iguanantis that film would have still been a horribly written, incomprehensible and overly long dreck.
The runtime in is the main complaint. If they shaved off half an hour of unnecessary subplots the film could have been tighter and felt less like a chore to watch it.
..and yes that can also be said for 2014's Godzilla movie.

Dunno why but was compelled to throw in Cloverfield, Godzilla 2014 and Pacific Rim tonight for a bit of a marathon. Was fun. Stupid but fun.

Was kind of disappointed that Asylum did not release a knock off to coincide with last year's Godzilla.. They could of called it: LordLizard
Unless they did, not really sure. There is a movie on Netflix called Croczilla .. Could have been that,

Destroy All Monsters Now Available for Streaming on CrunchyrollAvailable for paying All-Access users now, will become available for everyone else on February 13th. I like that Crunchyroll is branching out. First various Ultraman shows, now this. If only Toei could stream some of their stuff there. Edit: Apparently still no good for myself "due to licensing restrictions". Ah well.

I managed to finally get round to seeing the 2014 Godzilla, and...it was alright. Pretty good, just with some bad flaws, mainly along the lines of the best human character being wasted (Cranston, of course) and Edwards pulling that really irritating "now they're gonna fight...oh, wait" tease about six times too many. It was like Bret teasing the Sharpshooper on Vince at WrestleMania all over again.
Still, I came out of it with an overall thumbs slightly up and that puts it ahead of several others in the series. A sequel should be better as they don't need to do the establishing and teasing of Godzilla anymore, but I'll look forward just as much to the lower budget Toho efforts.

Here's a random bit of personal trivia:
Long ago, in the before time, I was sitting in a night class at college bored out of my skull. The professor made me come to the front of the lecture hall and sit in the middle of the front row because he had this odd fetish about making people that looked bored sit front and center so he could speak directly to him.
Anyway, it was the last two weeks of my college career and I really didn't give a shit anymore because I was aceing the class (Advanced Transportation Geography) so I ended up doodling stupid pictures and stealing some hard candy (I remember it was peach something) from this attractive girl that always sat in the front row. After class I said "I'm going to go watch Godzilla movies. Wanna come?" She slowly and very oddly said "I guess so".
Got back to the room, tossed in Godzilla vs King Kong and she loved it.
Got married a couple years later and have now been together for like 15 years.
So there you have it, if a chick watches and likes King Kong vs Godzilla, just marry her already. It's worth it and it's obviously meant to be.

Godzilla 1998 was.....God I was so mad when I saw it in the theater I felt like it was a bait and switch scam.
The original version of Godzilla 1985 (without Raymond Burr edited in) is far FAR superior to the one that made it stateside...same with the 1954 version. Anytime the Americans added stuff in it ruined the films.

Looking for suggestions for Showa-era Godzilla films to watch.
I've spent the last few months downloading & watching a Godzilla movie every Saturday night, starting from "Return of Godzilla" (aka Godzilla 1985) up to Final Wars last week. So I have now watched the Heisei and Millennium series, and want to go a bit more old-school. I've already seen the 1954 original, suggestions are welcome!
