man the selling and story telling in Okada vs Tanahashi is f***ing second to none, that was amazing and i love the real fight feel that Josh Barnett gives it. Amazing

Please tell me Okada vs. Minoru Suzuki is on the next episode... which I guess will be in two weeks since I believe next week will be the 3rd episode again. That aren't showing that match at all, as baffling as it sounds. That match took place in May but they're skipping to Okada/Makabe in June. They're also skipping over Nakamura/Smith and Nakamura/Ishii vs Smith/Archer. Why they're leaving in these promos for matches they aren't airing is beyond me.

Tonight's episode will be a repeat of last weeks' Tanahashi/Okada and airing an hour earlier at 8.
Next week features Okada/Makabe and Tanahashi/Devitt.

I don't think Mauro should have said, 'No, that's not Finn Balor.' I wouldn't have minded, "Maybe some viewers will know him as Finn Balor, but..."

I enjoyed Okada and Makabe but I didn't like how they just rushed all the way through Devitt and Tanahashi, they could've shown more of it than just about two minutes.

WWE should steal the spot where the wrestlers talk about the matches and stuff... I really like that
Next to NXT this is my favorite show

I was disappointed it wasn't longer, either. It seemed like there were longer commercial breaks than what I saw in the first week, too.

I'm glad Barnett's able to get more than a word in edgewise now. He's settled in and is quite good.
Ranallo still needs to calm down a bit and cool it with the infodump. He doesn't need to reference Okada's awful run with TNA during every match of his that gets shown or spin off into unrelated historical tangents. We have Google and Wikipedia for that.
I really wanted to see Tanahashi/Devitt in full and was disappointed with time constraint highlights, though Okada/Makabe was excellent.

Well, after watching Wrestle Kingdom 9 last night I needed a bit more of an NJPW fix (I don't normally 'do' modern wrestling) so I sought out the AXS shows. After watching the first episode (which blew away Tanahashi and Okada's match from last month) I can honestly say that Mauro Ranallo is the commentator I've been needing for years. The main thing that puts me off WWE this days is the presentation and the commentary rather than what's going on in the ring so to hear someone actually calling moves, clearly getting into what he was watching and presenting the show as sporting contest was like a breath of fresh air. No shilling products, no being more interested in Twitter, no poor attempts at comedy, just someone enjoying and presenting what is put in front of them. Without exaggeration this could be the thing that turns wrestling into something I enjoy again rather than something I'm nostalgic for.

Good show and glad they actually showed more than just a glimpse of the eight man tag match. They probably could've shown the whole match. Okada and Devitt was real good and you know Balor's going to be a future world champion when not if.
Next week, Nakamura and Ibushi.

I just want to say, I love this show.
One question though, was there any reason why we never got to see the Okada/Suzuki match?

I just want to say, I love this show. One question though, was there any reason why we never got to see the Okada/Suzuki match? They're skipping ahead so it won't be so out of date. The match in the first episode was 2 years old, the match shown in the last of the scheduled 13 episode will about 1 year old. Skipping the Okada/Suzuki match was just an unfortunate casualty. As for why they showed the promo and not the match, I believe it's because AXS is airing the episodes unedited from the original episodes that aired in Japan, just with the English commentary, subtitles and graphics. I guess either TV Asahi or AXS didn't want content spliced in or taken out. It sucks, but if NJPW becomes a permanent fixture on AXS, they'll eventually catch up with the Japanese broadcast and stuff like this won't be a problem.
