I'm shocked - SHOCKED - that Jonny Fairplay's wife didn't win despite having 11 years of experience!!!

To be fair everyone on Tough Enough but Rima and Cameron were independent wrestlers.

The only thing I remember about him is Austin mocking his nickname. I remember the vignettes they did about how he pretty much lived in a hell hole, but that's all I remember too Make A Difference Silent Rage.

But if he didn't ask for his release and stayed in FCW, he might have gotten more time to be groomed and improve. At the very least, he would've stayed employed until the Red Endeavoring. They would've been more patient with him, and he might've gotten to have an actual TV debut once NXT became developmental. He would've at least become good enough to work on NXT TV during the early days before all the awesome indy/international stars started coming in. Going on Tough Enough was a mistake because once he was in the public eye, he had a shorter window of time to become a decent worker. They put him in a sink or swim position and unfortunately he sank. True and I'm not saying that it was a smart decision, but someone that has a deal and quits to be on a TV show is probably only doing it because they knew they'd get seen. WWE is pretty well known for keeping developmental guys far longer than they would keep main roster guys so I have no doubt that Andy would've lasted until NXT started, but the publicity from Tough Enough was probably more attractive than waiting. But that ties into the "if Aries is on the show, then it's clear it's rigged" moment: When you have someone who was known to be under a WWE developmental deal before the show came out who "quit" to do the show, that's more of a sign of a ringer than even an indy standout making it onto the show...and since Matt Cross DID make the Tough Enough roster and be the first to truly be eliminated from the show [after Cameron eventually making it], that happened already. Even then, it's viable to have Cross eliminated second and fail, just so that the REAL message is unstated (Matt Cross is widely accepted to be the most legendary yardtard of all time and is considered to be the face of backyard wrestling throughout the world- and all he got out of all that skill as a yardtard was to be eliminated second for Tough Enough.)

I dunno, I can see both arguments. Before NXT (and maybe they still do), WWE would sign lots of people to developmental contracts without any real plan for them so I don't think that being signed necessarily means that you're in a better place career-wise than what Tough Enough would do for you. But yeah, Andy was signed and could've just focused on working harder to be a better performer rather than exposing that he wasn't very good to the entire world.

Out of everyone from FCW they could've put on the show in case they couldn't have justified Rima winning, they picked Silent Rage and Alicia Fox's far less talented younger sister. Boggles the mind.

Carlos Colon wouldn't have had a sloppy *gringo* as champ to make himself, his family, and his wrestlers look better by comparison.

The only thing I remember about him is Austin mocking his nickname. Also, "NO SIR, I HAVEN'T!" There's a scene in Grown Ups 2 with Stone Cold where I swear he's copying that.

They turned down Austin Aries for the show. Presumably, for being too good. That kind of makes sense. Aries IS too good for Tough Enough. Isn't Tough Enough supposed to be about a bunch of nobodies trying to chase their dreams and become a pro wrestler? Aries wasn't just too good, but too famous. Either he has to win because he's obviously that much better, or he loses and it becomes that obvious that the competition is rigged. Though it does beg the question, if he's too good for Tough Enough, shouldn't they have invited him to developmental? I suppose today they probably would have. Things were different back then with no NXT (Not the full sail version, anyway) or fancy performance center.

Tough Enough has always sucked. Some decent talent has come from it occasionally, but the whole thing was fundamentally flawed.

He would be afraid to go outside, due to Rock being out there, buying a car from a crackhead.

He wasn't the only developmental person on the Tough Enough, so was Alicia Fox's sister (Victoria Crawford?)
I enjoyed Tough Enough, but all I remember is they spent the early episodes doing everything they could to convince everybody that Rima was going toe-to-toe with everybody else in the drills and competitions but it being completely obvious she wasn't.
I also remember Luke and Tristan being so much better than everybody else it wasn't even funny.
I always just assumed Andy won because after filming and realizing the differences in skill levels that they just decided to keep the guy they already had on contract rather than hire someone new they had no interest in.

Minutes after he won Tough Enough he got a stone cold stunner and buried by Vince Mcmahon, he was never going anywhere good after that.
