I really want to watch the Network right now, but Chrome refuses to load it for me at the moment. I'd watch on my phone, but the screen is too small for me to enjoy more than one match at a time. That leaves me to watching on my 360. I'd rather watch on my WiiU, though. Why hasn't the network launched on WiiU and 3DS already? Both platforms have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Instant Video, so clearly there's a market for on-demand content on these platforms. Plus, Slam City plays on Nintendo Vidoe on 3DS, so clearly Nintendo is open to a WWE partnership. I don't get the absence.

Its annoying too that its only on select Samsung blu-ray players. I got a new home theater/surround system for xmas and of course its one of the only models that doesn't have WWE network, even though it has every other streaming video service known to man

The reason is because Vince is probably like, god damn pal, we aren't able to put the network on that small grey box.

Because they prioritise to get the apps out on the platforms with the largest userbase first.
Also it may be harder to get an app on nintendos platform which wouldn't surprise me (Nintendo are very strict with quality control)

I wouldn't doubt it if the WWE Network App didn't pass Nintendo's quality controls

Probably because the instal base isn't high with a platform that many aren't making apps for so its probably more work then its worth.

It'd be pretty cool to be able to control stuff on the Wii U Gamepad via touch controls. I'm sure it'll wind up on it eventually, probably this year, even.

It has been having problems on Chrome for most people, but for some reason it still works on chrome when you are using incognito mode.

Sure you'd have some extra work with the Gamepad and all, but I would imagine the UI would be similar to the other platforms. You're right that that's probably the reason, but it is pretty weird that they just don't make one if only to cover all of their bases.

Not being on the Wii U makes sense to me, but I don't get why it's not on the 3DS. Unless maybe it can't handle livestreaming video; it should be able to play archive stuff just fine though, can with Youtube, Hulu, and Netflix.

I think that's the case as the 3DS really isn't that powerful for fully online streaming as even playing Smash Bros 3DS online has some lag to it. It's fine for YouTube and others, but not for something like WWE Network or MLB.

Does the WiiU internet browser work with the network? No, its browser doesn't have Flash support.

It's fine for YouTube and others, but not for something like WWE Network or MLB. Smash Bros and streaming video aren't anywhere close to an even comparison. I'm no expert when it comes to networking, but I do realize that online play in a game like Smash is going to be naturally laggy. Unlike in a shooter or a racing game where only the general position of each player is crucial to gameplay, in Smash every frame matters. The game must keep up with where every player is, what animation is playing and at what stage, where items are located, and several other things every single frame. This is being called at a very small fraction of a second and must be kept up with up to 4 players who could be anywhere around the world. It has nothing to do with the hardware's ability to stream live video. It may still be incapable of doing it, but that could be fixed via a software update by Nintendo. Actually, you've helped me figure out its absence on one of the two platforms, but WiiU's lack of a Network is still baffling.

In all honesty, it's probably just not a priority. Their video games aren't even on Nintendo platforms anymore either. The Wii U has a very minimal app selection to begin with so I'd be surprised if it eventually shows up. Mind you I say this as a Wii U/3DS owner.

I can sorta forgive them for stopping the Nintendo ports of their games since they've only got a year to make a new game and having to cut features and do extra work for the Wii versions probably wasn't worth it. But I can't think of a single reason as to why they can't just port over the PS4 UI and add support for the tablet controller. That's essentially what YouTube did and it worked out for them.

Vince thinks Nintendo are still only a playing card company.
