Multiple people brought that up when it was still up in the air on where it would be. I would love it, personally. It'll feel fresh and major in all the right ways. The Prudential Center is as lame as the IZOD center so I am accepting the fact that I won't be going to Summerslam because they insist on it being in a sub par arena. Maybe it's because I've only ever really been to small arenas, but I've never really gotten why people get hung up on the quality of them. My chair not have anything in it? It have drinks? Can I see? Okay, I'm good. Couple reasons on why I feel that way... 1) It is a bitch to get to the IZOD or Prudential center. I'm not even coming from one of the burroughs either. I'm coming from Hoboken (which is in NJ) and it's still easier to get to MSG/Barclays. Red Bull Stadium is kind of a hassle but that would at least be so distinctive I would not mind. 2) The atmosphere at MSG is the best I've ever been apart of. Every time I go it magical. Survivor Series 2011 was so much better than Wrestlemania 29. I have never been to Barclays but I have only heard (and expect) great things.

The original article seemed to indicate most IZOD events heading to the Prudential Center in Newark, so I'd imagine that's where SummerSlam will be. I'd assume that too. I wonder what took so long for that venue to close, it lost all it's meaning when the Nets stopped playing there in 2010. I keep swearing due to the post-renovation setup to MSG they can't do any more tv there.

Bring it to Pittsburgh! Twenty years since Shawn vs. Razor 2, plus it was the first PPV I saw in person. WWE is aware of the situation: "WWE is currently looking at alternatives and we are confident that we will come up with an equivalent, if not better, option for Summerslam." pwinsider.com/article/90828/wwe-statement-on-summerslam-2015-location.html?p=1I think we're all in agreement that ANYTHING would be better than the Izod Center! It's cool that the venue has a banner honoring WWE but, as it's already been stated, the place is a dump and hard to reach. Time to let it go.

Yeah, there is about 0 chance they go to MSG. They hate the changes made there and the costs involved, you would think after years of not running TV there, people would have realized this. Prudential and Red Bull make the most sense with Barclays having an outside shot. well they did have the 2013 HOF ceremony at MSG, and they used the typical TV stage without any problems. But yea it is killer expensive, but Is till think they could do TV there if they really wanted to.

I have fond memories of that place going to Nets games as a kid, but the reality of it is, the arena is a dump, and with no pro sports team there anymore, the building is barely used anymore, especially with a new arena close by in Newark. Maybe this was addressed in a precious thread, but why not hold Sunmerslam at Red Bulls stadium? It's outdoors, it'll hold 30k people, and it'll really help make Summerslam appear to be the #2 show again. Or MSG...i'm cool with that too. Back in the Rock and Wrestling era when it hosted monthly house shows I hit every one for about 5 yrs (including the TV taping with the three Pits setting up Andre vs Hogan. There were four and I saw

Yeah, they can still do tv it's just really expensive... also they changed the layout of the seats so they can't use the tunnel entrance anymore... which sucks...

That's where I saw Krist Novaselic join the Foo Fighters on-stage on the 20th anniversary of Nevermind's release. I have no idea where Summerslam is going to end up. Just for fun, they should do it in South Carolina as SC, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't has a WWE PPV event since In Your House: Beware of Dog in 1996. I think if anyone's due, it's them. Was Krist wearing shoes?

That's a shame, Izod was like 10 minutes from my house. I'm hoping it'll go to either MSG or the Prudential Center.

This is actually sad but not surprising news.
During WrestleMania Axxess 2013, I was talking to a security guard at the IZOD Center while waiting in line at one of the autograph sessions, and he explained that the arena used to be jam-packed on an almost nightly basis, that he used to work security there almost every other night between concerts, events, New Jersey Nets games, and New Jersey Devils games.
But then the Devils moved to the Prudential Center in Newark and the Nets moved to Brooklyn, and the arena lost all of its cache. It was at the bottom of the food chain in the New York/New Jersey area, behind Madison Square Garden, the Barclays Center, and the Prudential Center. The guy said at best he was working security at the arena a few times a month, because all they hosted to that point were sporadic concerts or events.
