We all know how it works, the WWE will elevate or minimize moments in their history depending on what terms they are with the wrestlers participating in it. I remember when Hogan was in WCW or TNA they would strangely downplay his title reigns and slamming Andre at WrestleMania 3 while elevating more nondescript moments (Undertaker beating Snuka at WM7...which let's face it was a pee break match)
My pick is the Hitman-Michaels Iron Man Match. It was for the most part a boring match which led to a lame and forgettable title reign. It was not a particularly good wrestlemania and the arena was clearing out when Michaels was celebrating in the ring. Yet they hype this thing like it was Warrior-Hogan earth shattering or a masterpiece like Savage-Steamboat.

Just for the sheer volume of times it's been mentioned, I have to nominate DX invading Nitro.

I'll second HBK-Hitman Iron Man match. It was painful.
Anything with Rey Mysterio is overrated. It's like "Here's Rey Mysterio, the small guy who breaks all the records and does the impossible because of his giant heart." ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz

The Debut of Austin 3:16 at KOTR 96. People act like Austin after doing that was immediately a star and was making headwaves.
He wasn't, until Bret, Austin spent most of his time after that in the undercard, even working Dark Matches like he did against Yokozuna the next month at Summerslam. He was still coming out to his Ringmaster music. It wasn't until WrestleMania over a half year later that he started to become a star.

Just for the sheer volume of times it's been mentioned, I have to nominate DX invading Nitro. Yeah, it was a decent moment when it happened but the WWE treated it like this huge deal that won them the war! but it really didn't do anything...

Hogan vs Andre at WM3 They'd been fueding since 1980 why was this time so iconic? Well for the WWF audience of 1987, many were not aware of past feuds. They believed Andre was undefeated, and had never been slammed. It was 93,000 people, a legendary scene.

I still reckon it would have been great if some of the WCW guys had met DX & beat them up.
Now THAT would have been footage worth repeating

Hogan vs Andre at WM3 They'd been fueding since 1980 why was this time so iconic? Because they had not been feuding since 1980. They had some matches back then which not many people knew about, but then they were on-screen friends when WWF started getting popular. To most of the audience, Hogan and Andre were life-long buds, Andre was undefeated and had never been slammed. Add 93,000 spectators to the mix and there's several reasons why this was so iconic.

Hogan vs Andre at WM3 They'd been fueding since 1980 why was this time so iconic? Thongs were different by WM3. WWF was bigger with a new audience who probably didnt know their history or that Hogan was once a heel, in their eyes him and Andre were great friends so Andre's turn was a shock and it was the biggest match in WM history to that point.

Anytime John Cena lifts The Big Show. The first time actually was a good moment. Survivor Series 03' was awesome because it opened the show and popped the crowd huge.

Yeah, it was a decent moment when it happened but the WWE treated it like this huge deal that won them the war! but it really didn't do anything... DX in general was overrated. WWE acts as if they were this big time main event act that ruled the Attitude Era with an iron fist when it was really Shawn Michaels + his mid card sidekick and the mid card sidekick's girlfriend. Then once Michaels disappeared "The DX Army" was just a popular mid card act and then got demoted to simply being Triple H's goon squad once he rose up the card. And the funny thing about the DX/Nitro thing is that it contradicts WWE's other narrative in which DX supposedly only consisted of Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
