It wasn't until I had about three of the characters (He-Man, Stratos and Man-At-Arms) that I noticed that they all shared the same body mould! Of the three you listed, only He-Man and Man-At-Arms shared the same body mold. Stratos was completely different, and shared a body mold with Beast Man - they had the hairy/furry torso, longer arms and slightly shorter legs. That was one of the more interesting things regarding the line, how much they cannibalized itself for new figures, and how much they cannibalized previous Mattel lines. Both Battle Cat and Zoar (the eagle) were repaints of figures that had been released in Big Jim and Tarzan lines years before. Beast Man was originally going to be a giant gorilla from the Big Jim line painted red before they opted for what we got. I bow to your superior knowledge, sir! (*bow*):-D

That said, doubt the laser figures would have made it in the show - none of the other variants before them did.

Anyone been reading Eternity War? A lot of He-Man fans seem to really dig it, but I am finding it hilariously bad. He-Man and Skeleter have seemingly powered up/powered down/gotten new looks/gotten new powers a dozen times in this series that is only on issue 14. The art has steadily gone off the rails, and we keep hearing how freaking important She-Ra is but she never really seems to do anything. In fact, the only noteworthy thing she did was foolishly trust Skeletor and then get betrayed.
I'd love to see IDW work their magic on He-Man the way they have Transformers, Ninja Turtles, and Jem.

I liked the revival for what it was. I also sometimes consider getting one of the modern toys, particularly Skeletor, and don't make the leap.
Four Horseman's Legions series of figures, I think it was called, go great with MOTC figures, new and old. I assume that is by design.

I'd love to see IDW work their magic on He-Man the way they have Transformers, Ninja Turtles, and Jem. Tell me you're being sarcastic with this. The TMNT movie guys: "Let's give He-man GIANT ears and monstrous feet!!!" The Transformers guys: "YEAH!!!! And every time he pulls his sword there's an ungodly gigantic explosion which blows up 9/10's of the city!" Jem guys: "Yes, but let's make it actually all about a young boy coming to terms with his internet radio show and how the Youtube comments aren't what he was expecting. 'He-man' is just the name he uses for his inanimate Teddy Bear that he asks for advice when his parents aren't home to help him cope." That would utterly suck.

Another fun story: He-Man helped loosely inspire Chucky/Childsplay. Don Mancini found franchises like He-Man, Thundercats, Cabbage Patch Kids, and others to be a bit disturbing, as they were all essentially giant commercials aimed at selling toys. He found this level of marketing toward kids to be rather manipulative, and from his skepticism about it he got the idea for a movie about a highly marketed children's toy-that turns out to be evil. Thus, Chucky came to be.

Why is Hogan's head a different color than his body? On the subject of He-Man, anyone else think that She-Ra holds up better as a cartoon? It still has a lot of the campy nature of He-Man, but it just seems better to me. Plus, Hordak>Skeletor.
