Since probably won't be around for most of the day tomorrow
In NFL History
1968 - Vince Lombardi resigns as coach of Green Bay Packers
2004 - Janet Jackson's breast is exposed during the half-time show of Super Bowl XXXVIII, resulting in US broadcasters adopting a stronger adherence to FCC censorship guidelines.
2004 - Super Bowl XXXVIII: New England Patriots beat Carolina Panthers, 32-29 at the Reliant Stadium MVP: Tom Brady, New England, QB
Super Bowl XXXVIII was an American football game between the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Carolina Panthers and the American Football Conference (AFC) champion New England Patriots to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2003 season. The Patriots defeated the Panthers by the score of 32–29, winning their second Super Bowl in three years. The game was played at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas on February 1, 2004. At the time, this was the most watched Super Bowl ever with 144.4 million viewers.
The Panthers were making their first ever Super Bowl appearance after posting an 11–5 regular season record. The Patriots were seeking their second Super Bowl title in three years after posting a 14–2 record.
NFL fans and sports writers widely consider this game one of the most well-played and thrilling Super Bowls; Sports Illustrated writer Peter King hailed it as the "Greatest Super Bowl of all time." Although neither team could score in the first and third quarters, they both ended up with a combined total of 868 yards and 61 points. The game was scoreless for a Super Bowl record 26:55 before the two teams combined for 24 points prior to halftime. The clubs then combined for a Super Bowl record 37 points in the fourth quarter. The contest was finally decided on New England kicker Adam Vinatieri's 41-yard field goal with four seconds left. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the second time in three years. He set a Super Bowl record for the most pass completions (32), completing 66.7 percent of his passes and accumulating 354 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 12 rushing yards. Jake Delhomme for his part overcame the poor start with 323 passing yards and three touchdowns.
The game is also known for its controversial halftime show in which Janet Jackson's breast, adorned with a nipple shield, was exposed by Justin Timberlake for about half a second, in what was later referred to as a "wardrobe malfunction".[4] Along with the rest of the halftime show, it led to an immediate crackdown by the Federal Communications Commission, and widespread debate on perceived indecency in broadcasting.
2009 - Super Bowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers beat Arizona Cardinals, 27-23 at the Raymond James Stadium MVP: Santonio Holmes, Pittsburgh, WR
Super Bowl XLIII was an American football game between the American Football Conference (AFC) champion Pittsburgh Steelers and the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Arizona Cardinals to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2008 season. The Steelers defeated the Cardinals by the score of 27–23. The game was played on February 1, 2009, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
With this victory, the Steelers became the first team to win six Super Bowls. The win was also Pittsburgh's second Super Bowl victory in four years, after winning Super Bowl XL at the end of the 2005 season. The Cardinals entered the game seeking their first NFL title since 1947, the longest championship drought in the league. The club became an unexpected winner during the regular season, compiling a 9–7 record, and the playoffs with the aid of head coach Ken Whisenhunt, who was the Steelers' offensive coordinator in Super Bowl XL, and the re-emergence of quarterback Kurt Warner, who was the Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl XXXIV with his former team, the St. Louis Rams.
Pittsburgh jumped to a 17–7 halftime lead, aided by linebacker James Harrison's Super Bowl record 100-yard interception return for a touchdown. Trailing 20–7 at the start of the fourth quarter, Arizona scored 16 consecutive points, including wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's 64-yard touchdown reception, to take the lead with 2:37 remaining in the game. But the Steelers marched 78 yards to score on wide receiver Santonio Holmes' 6-yard game-winning touchdown catch with 35 seconds left. Holmes, who caught nine passes for 131 yards and a touchdown, including four receptions for 73 yards on that final game-winning drive, was named Super Bowl MVP. He became the sixth wide receiver to win the award, and also was the third Pittsburgh receiver to win the award, following Lynn Swann and Hines Ward.
Despite the global financial crisis and limited amount of ancillary festivities that are normally held before the game, the NBC television network broadcast attracted an average U.S. audience of 98.7 million viewers, making it the most watched Super Bowl in history at that point.

I see our boy Harvin Marrison wasn't inducted. I think Marvin Harrison won't be in for a while because that shooting case will be a dark cloud over his head. I still think he should be in but, whatever.

I mean I already knew it, but the MVP award is biased towards QB's and the occasional RB. JJ Watt really should've won it.

I think it was less a QB bias and more due to the fact that the Texans didn't make the playoffs. The last MVP from a team that didn’t make the playoffs was O.J. Simpson in 1973.

That's what I was thinking as well. It's more to do with the Packers making the playoffs than anything else and not many people have won it for a team that missed. Maybe that should have been thrown out for this year but, whatever.

JJ Watt is an excellent player but he's only going to get MVP in a situation where the Texans get into the AFC Championship game, at the absolute minimum. It's exceedingly difficult for a defensive player to make the same kind of contribution to the team's success that a quarterback can, and that's ultimately what being MVP is about.

Add another Seahawk to the injury report as Kam Chancellor had to have his knee wrapped up due to a fall in practice. He'll play of course at the Super Bowl...but yeah, Seahawks not going in at 100% Soon people are going to complain New England had voodoo dolls and we'll have VoodooGate. Or they can blame the SI Cover Jinx:

In every single Super Bowl the Patriots have played in the Belichick-Brady era, the score differential was 3 points or less. Win or loss.
I think that trend continues and the Seahawks narrowly beat the Pats by 3.
Also Rodgers absolutely deserved the MVP award over Watt IMO. Texans didn't make the playoffs and their defense wasn't even that good overall. Watt's offensive touchdowns were also on gimmick plays and I can't believe anyone would actually use them in a serious argument for why he should be MVP.
