I think the NFL has to decide on thier penalty before the teams get to Glendale. They can't let this fester and take more focus off the game itself. If anything I can see a call from a New York area code going to one P. Manning's house sometime friday after Bellichek and Brady's newsconferences the next 2 days. "Hey Peyton....it's Roger Goodell, how you doing. Look we could really use your help, think it's possible you could call a press conference this weekend and announce your intentions for next year." Yeah I'm being somewhat factious with that....but I say somewhat because there is no organization better at spin control or media manipulation nowadays then the NFL. I disagree. They remind me of WWE. They're quite terrible at media control and their intrigues are amateurish at best. But their saving grace is that most people just don't care enough to do anything about it.

Also, can the media stop adding the "gate" suffix to every scandal that comes up? Watergate was called Watergate because it happened at the Watergate hotel. I don't think the balls were deflated at the "deflategate" hotel. I know Patriot Place has a hotel on the premises, but I don't think it's called the Deflategate (though it wouldn't surprise me if they film couples in their rooms like in the "I'll see you in court" episode of Married with Children). If it makes you feel any better, the first term I saw used was "Ballghazi".

If the Patriots are the Four Horsemen of the NFL (with Brady as Ric Flair and Belichick as J.J. Dillon), does that make Peyton the Hulk Hogan of the NFL?
Can you also make any NFL team-wrestler comparisons?

Fair enough. It's why I have not used the term myself. I just thought it was worth demonstrating that it could be worse than "_____gate".

Can you also make any NFL team-wrestler comparisons? Peyton would be Sting, with Denver being the Wolfpac. I guess that would make Andrew Luck, DDP and Eli and the Giants would be Savage. Seattle is looking like Goldberg as well.

Unless he wins another Super Bowl (and maybe not even then) Peyton will be remembered as a Colt, much like people want to forgot Wolfpac Sting and remember the Crow. We're also the cool team to like now thanks to Peyton, much like the Wolfpac when Sting jumped. Plus we're bringing in guys like Talib and Ware that don't seem to fit at all like Luger and Hennig. I'm putting way too much thought into this, lol.

Liking that this Superbowl has started a feud between Captain America and Starlord. You know that no matter who wins, they'll both do what they would have done if they lost, with the exception of wearing a jersey or waving the 12th man flag.

And before anyone says Brady = Triple H, at least Brady isn't married to one of Goodell's daughters (assuming they're old enough), or refuse to put over those who he sees as a threat to his position, or have Goodell's ear. Oh, and check out this: sidelinesportsreport.com/media-turining-new-england-victims/This much like how the public still see Vick as a dog killer, Big Ben as an alleged rapist, or Ray Lewis as an alleged murderer. BTW, did the public forgive the Saints for Bountygate (or at least given the benefit of the doubt)?

Now there is another set of questions to answer. Apparently, after all 12 of the Patriots balls were found to be underinflated (with the 11 mentioned being more than 2 psi under while the 12th not as underinflated as the rest), those 12 balls were all taken out of rotation and the Patriots were told they had to use their 12 alternate balls. We know that the 12 alternate balls were not tested before the game, but were they tested at halftime before they were used? Were they tested at the end of the game? It was kind of odd that the first alternate ball they brought out after halftime was taken out of rotation as well, so was it not kosher either?
