Perry Saturn was pretty damn great.
Loved his feud with Jericho in WCW where he ended up wearing a dress. One of the best feuds they did in WCW, in my opinion, especially in it's later years. His work with Kronus in ECW felt pretty revolutionary at the time and produced some rather chaotic and entertaining matches. I didn't think he fit in very well in the WWF ... his style, look and lack of mic skills just never clicked and it's a real shame because I really thought he was talented and deserved a lot.

One of my favorite times was the brief period he and Raven were teaming as babyfaces in WCW, feuding with the two or three other teams at the same time. They were getting the loudest pops of the night at times.

The fact that he debuted with the guys he did made him look like the Ringo of the group.

They were getting the loudest pops of the night at times. I forgot all about that team and I have no idea why other than the fact they were short lived; they were an awesome team together and those tag matches were some of the best stuff WCW did in 99. It's likely forgotten by most, but his triangle match at Road Wild 98 with Raven and Kanyon was another favourite of mine. Loved that little gem of a match.

When Raven returned, it was as a heel again as part of the short-lived Dead Pool with Vampiro and ICP. I think.

There was also the plotline where Kanyon joined Raven and Saturn, but then later backstabbed Saturn to form the Jersey Triad with DDP and Bigelow.

Loved him but always thought he was out of place in the Radicalz. The rest came in off of the back of being recognised as three of the best wrestlers in the world, and while Saturn was great he didn't have that kind of pure reputation the other three had. Was much better at being a tattoo'd, slightly edgy weirdo who happened to be pretty damn lethal in the ring too.

I didn't like Saturn when I was a teenager because I was a moron, but in revisiting his work as an adult I think he was really good. It's sad how WWE wasted him, but I really admire him for his story about kicking his addictions.

The period of Saturn/Raven vs Mysterio/Kidman vs Benoit/Malenko vs Windham/Hennig was great. They should've had them feud for the US title, too. It could've made things interesting.
The only guys they had for the US title were both Steiners, Booker T and Buff Bagwell. You could even throw them in, it would've been an awesome upper mid card.

He really was. I mean the guy had great matches with Disco freakin Inferno. He was super over as a babyface when he was feuding with Raven to free the flock.

Not sure what ppv (fall brawl maybe?) Saturn vs raven. I remember the buildup is raven breaking saturns fingers. During the match Saturn gives Loki the DVD... And Kidman turns face I think

Saturn freeing The Flock was one of the better WCW undercard stories at the time. I was routing for him so much as a kid and it should have been his move into the US title picture.
Instead he had that crappy "wear a dress " storyline with Chris Jericho. If you must have that storyline, then surely it's the heel who's supposed to wear the dress and be humiliated.

I didn't hate that storyline with Jericho at all. I thought it was really entertaining and produced some great quality matches. On the topic of the dress, I thought it was unique that Saturn lost and enjoyed it. That was a twist in the story and really helped give Saturn more of a personality and create a more unique aura about him - I liked it. Did much better for Saturn than it did for Vito.

WCW had a midcard filled with people who genuinely seemed like they could be world beaters given half a chance, Eddie, Benoit, Jericho, Saturn, Raven, Malenko, Kanyon, Wrath, Scott Steiner, Booker T and such, in the rare times that they let them go up against an established main eventer like Bret, Flair or DDP, they looked like they could hold their own in a way I felt that the WWF midcard never could 95% of the time.

Not to veer too off-topic, but having great matches with Disco wasn't something that required superhuman effort. Disco was and still is one of the more overlooked, underrappreciated wrestlers from that era. His gimmick held him back more than lack of in-ring talent. On-topic, Saturn was awesome. He always seemed like a smaller version of the British Bulldog, a smaller powerhouse type who could put on great matches with anyone. He had a Dean Malenko vibe going back in WCW where he didn't cut long promos but had the respect of the WCW audience through his in-ring ability. I agree that he and Raven were an underrated tag team.

He's one of those guys who was awesome to use in the games since he had such a huge movepool, so unlike a bunch of guys who had random moves, all of his were authentic. Beyond that, he had one of the best flying elbows in wrestling history, go back and look at it if you don't believe me. Just insane seeing some of the things he could pull off. I think he might be one of the only people I've ever seen do release Northern Lights Suplexes, among other insane suplexes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1qlxXQJsU0

I watched that video all the way through. His offence always looked fantastic, very high impact. I've never seen or read anyone talk about what he was like to work with. I wonder if it was as stiff as it looks or whether he was just that good a worker. Obviously, the Mike Bell incident is kind of a different deal...
