It's awesome for us, but why does WWE keep thinking that free months are going to keep people?

It is too soon for this, but they need those numbers I guess.
I think it might not be a horrible idea (as much as giving away this much content for free can ever not be a horrible idea) to make every February or march (depending on whether Mania falls in April or March) the free lead in month to lure in as many eyes as possible for the Road to Wrestlemania.

Nice timing for a month after the UK launch. Ugh. You won't be billed until the 29th so you can always cancel your current account and make a new one with a new payment method to get the free month.

Even if it is getting people, the content has to be good enough to keep them, and aside from NXT and the PPVs, they don't do a whole lot with WWE Network.

I didn't know they needed to publicly release all their research findings in order for us to approve their marketing initiatives.

If WWE Network really is struggling with subscription numbers as bad as has been reported, I don't think it's farfetched at all to question marketing ploys that equate to just giving away a live PPV as well as the VOD service.

You can question it all you want. It's just a little silly is all. If you repeat a marketing strategy so soon after the first one, typically that means the first one was successful. Given February has notoriously been a throwaway month before Mania, it makes sense to do it again now.

Just got an email saying Feb is free and won't be charged until March due to being a new subscriber. Anyone else?

Yep, me too.
Six weeks of the Network, Royal Rumble, Fast Lane and NXT Takeover all for free. All at a time while I'm sitting at home between jobs.
Screw this company!

So it's free for everyone, not just new subscribers?
I think it's great. half of the $10 I saved can go towards trying out ICW's streaming service

I don't know. I'mm in the UK, and the email referring to me "being one of the first to sign up for WWE Network" suggests this is UK-based, but no reason why they can't extend it elsewhere. As someone else said upthread, February might be a throwaway month, so maybe worth giving it away free every year to help push Wrestlemania.

yeah i just got that email too - good stuff - fair play to them.
WWE has just announced that we will be giving new WWE Network subscribers the entire month of February free including WWE's newest pay-per-view event, Fast Lane. As a thank you for your patience and being one of the first to sign up for WWE Network, we are extending this special offer to you. You will now get February for free and will not be charged for WWE Network until March 1.No action is required on your part.
Thank you for being a WWE Network subscriber.

Nice timing for a month after the UK launch. Ugh. UK viewers if they signed up when the geo-block was disabled won't be charged anything until 1st March. People who cancelled because of the Rumble or to try and trick the system, and resubscribed I believe were charged. But if you've signed up from the beginning you shouldn't have been charged anything at all yet and won't be until 1st March Essentially UK viewers get a month and a half, and two PPVs free.

May have had more if UK fans before the Rumble were told this but I'll take what I can get.
