I'm beginning to wonder if Rumble is some sort science experiment gone horribly right.

Stockholm had that Brazilian silence for a bit there.
Major win for Johnson, throws a wrench in UFC's plans but f*** it, I'm down for Bones/Rumble.

Rumble is a scary man. He's the number one contender now.
I was hoping for Gus because I thought he was the only guy who could fight Jones because he nullifies his reach.

...I'll say it. When it happens, Anthony Johnson will beat Jon Jones.

Oh, DC. You know that ref was terrified after the first two early stoppages and the scary daggone crowd. Plus, he probably had money on Gus.
Poor guy. Sometimes you just need a guy to take an unnecessary amount of punishment...

Yeah, that fight would've been stopped sooner if it was someone other than Gus I think.

Jones tweeted that he wasn't impressed with Alex, then deleted it

Jones tweeted that he wasn't impressed with Alex, then deleted it He also took a shot at Phil Davis as well. He's in straight up trollin' mode now. Probably from the lack of cocaine.

I totally forgot this was today. Shame I missed it, as I had picked Rumble as well.
Ah well, glad he won.

In fairness, Gus trolled him first. I wish UFC would cut both Phil Davis and Ryan Bader. They're both terrible. Davis is a bore who can't knock anyone out and Bader gets destroyed against real competition.

Disagree about Davis and Bader being bad, but the gulf between those two and Jones, DC, Rumble, and Gus is significant. (I know Davis beat Gus but neither are the same fighter they were then)

Rumble is the real deal. We might be looking at the UFC's next big thing if he takes the belt from Jones.

Would it be a safe bet to say we get Jones vs. Johnson and Gustafsson vs. Cormier with the winners then fighting each other?

I could be wrong but wasn't Dana and co. insisting that Johnson fight as a welterweight years ago ? Johnson felt he would be better off fighting as a light heavyweight and the UFC felt otherwise. Fast forward a couple of years and Rumble is back and about to get a shot at Jon Jones. Turns out Rumble was right about which weight class he should fight in.

True Story.....
Rumble Johnson lost to Kevin "The Fire" Burns once via TKO. The TKO was the result of being poked in the eye so goddamn much it almost fell out. Seriously, Burns went knuckle deep in Rumble's eye socket, Rumble collapsed, the ref thought he was quitting and ruled the fight a win for Burns.
After the fight, and this is where I might be lying, an old mystery man came to Rumble and offered to turns his eyeballs into white hot buttons of RAGE!!!! First he would have to defeat "The Fire" in a rematch. Rumble did so with no problem. He then wasted everyone's time at welterweight. The mystery man would not train Rumble until he truly started testing himself. Rumble tried middleweight...disaster. He was banished by DANA.
Back at the bottom, Rumble was truly ready to begin again. That meant movin' on up. The mystery man knew now was the time. He put Rumble through a Hellish/Intensive treatment that in the end resulted in the rarest fighting condition in MMA....EYES OF THE TIGER!
Now anytime he receives an eyepoke, he shakes that shit off and KO's his opponent. It happened vs DJ Linderman, it happened vs Mike Kyle and it happened last night vs Gus. Rumble never understood why he was truly chosen for this glorious gift....until now. HE'S FIGHTING THE EYEPOKE MASTER!!!Jon"Manhunter"Jones!!!!
This fight is the Alpha Vs the Omega!!!!!
