If we had a big time player announce that they are starting a wrestling company along the lines of Ted Turner wealth would the WWE be in big trouble? Say this big pocket company starts offering huge contracts to say, Ziggler, Bray, Bryan, and Ambrose.
How much trouble would the WWE be in?

No. It would do the opposite. Big competition would help motivate WWE improve. Yes, in the short-term, it would hurt them (especially after last night), but in the long-run, they'd probably be fear-mongered into improving.

If only some corporation with a bunch of money, like Panda Energy, could hire some underutilized exWWE wrestlers and restart the Monday Night Wars!

No, WWE is very stable financially. WWE is also drawing exceptionally well on live tours and has the marquee wrestling event in the world.
Anyone who says yes is kidding themselves. The irrational hatred of WWE on the net is getting ridiculous.

The problem with that theory is the last time they had competition was fifteen years ago. (Obviously I don't count the Monday Night Wars with TNA.) Vince is also fifteen years older and has been making alot of questionable booking decisions as of late. You put him up against someone with a better wrestling mind and just as big a budget to play around with, and I'm not all convinced that the WWE would be victorious when the dust settles. |

It would be illegal as all hell for them to offer contracts to Ziggler, Bray, Bryan, Ambrose or anyone on the WWE roster. There's plenty of other talent out there though... If everything lined up WWE would have some competition. I just don't see it happening. |

If there was real competition they would have thought twice about the manner of Reigns' push, heck, he would be elevated alongside more popular talent rather than instead of them like Triple H was in the Attitude era. If the WWF had decided that Triple H's main event push was their priority and Austin would benefit from a spell as a comedy character after his feud with Bret, they would be dead now. They saw sense then and I would think with a company around that's a close second, they would be less inclined to pull stunts like the rumble now.

WWE would still own the vast majority of televised American wrestling. There's not a good chance of putting them out of business as long as they have their library and merchandise sales to rely on.

Why the hell would Bryan leave? They gave this guy the world last year, he's a 5 time World Champion, MITB winner, and gets to also be on another non-wrestling tv show. He wouldn't leave just because they decided to go with someone else this year, especially when everyone knows he'll be champion again at some point. Though Cody I would say is even more nuts since his dad works with the company in a creative role, as does his wife. |

They wouldn't die out, but they'd be in trouble if Vince stays the stubborn SOB that he is right now. Since there's no competition, he does things the way he wants no matter what the crowd reactions are. For instance, if he wants Reigns to break CM Punks title reign, he's going to make it happen regardless. If there was competition again, I'd like to think he'd start accepting much more what the crowd reacts the best to.
