What's a 'Sky' and why does WWE have a contract with it? Not sure if serious or joking??? Even if you didn't know, it ought to be pretty easy to figure out if you read anyone's posts....

Sky is an obscure third world channel that serves a third world country. Not surprised you have never heard of it.

But why show the PPV from the previous night? They're obviously not supposed to show clips from it elsewhere otherwise we wouldn't get the still photos instead of actual footage. They've got hours of footage available in their archives, they could have cobbled together something like a best of 2014 show instead. Once the Benoit stuff was out, instead of doing a mini-tribute to him, or recapping ECW/SD!, the AM RAW that week played an hour version of a highly edited Night of Champions. It's not the first time that it's happened. The Sky Sports replay of that tribute Raw was a two hour package of WWE Championship matches, featuring John Cena mainly from what I remember, hosted by Todd Grisham in the studio. I don't know if this was made specifically to replace that episode, or if WWE makes these package episodes every so often incase they have to use them. The Sky Help Twitter is taking questions from folk who bought the PPV on Sky Box Office but then saw the two matches repeated on Raw last night. They are awaiting a response from Sky Sports before discussing refunds etc.

It's worth remembering/pointing out to American viewers that Sky sell the chance to watch repeats of PPVs, something that's also theoretically included in the price of the event. I'm pretty sure it's meant to remain "exclusive" as far as TV is concerned until they stop showing those replays. www1.skysports.com/other-sports/news/14204/9620128/wwe-royal-rumble-watch-the-2014-event-on-sky-sports-box-officeWhat's worse is those replays they sell aren't available in HD and you can't keep a recording, Raw was available in HD and if you record it you can keep it forever. I'm pretty sure WWE have breached their contract, possibly made Sky breach their own contract with customers too. This is why Otunga needs to return.

I find it odd with all the wrestling videos basically ever and a Network they badly needi to sell, their idea was, "Let's give away free what we just charged everyone for, in some form, last night and we've taken a shit kicking in social media...that ought to make things right, eh boys? #CancelWWENetwork We'll show them!!!!" Play an old Rumble, play an old Daniel Bryan vs. Kane match people will think that's how you actually booked anyway if you just pretended it was new...

Now, I can understand the position WWE was in and that they needed to get something for USA to show and it was a very hard situation to be in.
At the same time, they've already tried to low ball Sky before with the Network and paid for it (Along with us, for paying £9.99 instead of the originally advertised price and everyone else with the yanking of Main Event), this isn't going to help their position at all.

I don't have the network so ordered via Box Office. It's not showing up on my Future Charges for my next bill. I saw a tweet that someone had phoned Sky and they were not going to charge for it, as they aired it for free (the price of a sky subscription) the following day.

I very much doubt they did clear it beforehand and I sure Sky will be livid as I imagine they will be getting a lot of calls demanding refunds tomorrow from those who bought it via Box Office. I remember buying the first Lewis/Holyfield fight on the Box Office years ago and because of the controversial ending, Sky showed the fight on Sky Sports later that week. It got a lot of complaints because people said they wouldn't have paid for the fight if they knew it was on for free a few days later. Every boxing match in recent memory which has been shown on Box Office has been repeated for free (well, as free as a £40 per month subscription channel can be) on Sky Sports later that same week. You're paying to see it live. Good luck to anyone who tries it on and gets a refund though.

Strange though because this would indicate that Sky would be losing a huge tonne of money for something out of their control that WWE chose to do... Can't see why Sky would pay for WWE's "discretion".

haha just a quick observation, I have no idea who the complainant is here but Sky's response to his comments pretty much imply that they are either p****d or agree how bad it was - excuse bad language on there sky.response.lithium.com/portal/conversation/2768949
