Did he politic at all? Was he well respected and a "Vince guy"? Heard he had heat with HHH but that's it. Someone must've seen something in him since his debut.

Everyone who was ever anybody has to politic to some degree, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If even you don't think you deserve a spot, why should it be given to you?
That said, he had respect and his friends, but I recall Raven feeling hurt Edge didn't pull for him any when he got a good spot, since he felt like they were good and that if anyone had endorsed him, he might have had a better spot than he got, given he was over enough to merit it.

Well, going by his documentary and various podcasts he's done since retiring, he was not a Vince guy at all. He said that Vince straight up told him "Prove me wrong" right before going out to cash in his Money in the Bank. Dusty Rhodes and later Michael Hayes seemed to be the guys most on his side. He was also very well liked by Undertaker and Ric Flair, which surely went a long way.

Brodus said in a shoot that edge straight up said "I don't like you" to him.

Pretty sure it had something to do with how sloppy and dangerous Brodus was in the ring with he and Christian.

I think outside of Christian and obviously Lita he pretty much straight up told everyone they weren't friends, they just worked together. Whether he liked them or not.

Brodus Clay is a dangerous wrestler who has a reputation of working sloppy and injuring people.

He was also friends with Foley, which doesn't surprise me, given his heel promo work was at times very reminiscent of Foley's, but I do think he took a somewhat professional outlook, true.

Yeah, could be. I'm almost positive it was Jericho's podcast he said this on, maybe his DVD. I just recall the way he said it made it seem like he had no people at all he considered friends in the lockeroom, but we all know that isn't exactly true.

The Hayes love was definitely there, which is why Edge was always booked incredibly strong on Smackdown, never looked weak despite his "ultimate opportinist" gimmick, especially against the likes of Undertaker and Batista. Whereas on Raw it was always made apparent that Cena was straight up better than him.

On Brodus, he explained in his youshoot. Brodus is a quiet guy before you get to know him, and Edge said "I'm not sure if I like you or not" because Brodus barely said anything when he was working with Edge, Christian, and ADR. After Brodus started talking they were good

I find it hard to believe that Edge was a guy that Vince saw nothing in given how hard he was pushed before they gave him the money in the bank briefcase. He was a King of the ring winner, was around the main event scene before the Rated R Superstar character, they even put him in a tag team with Hulk Hogan for cripes sake. Compare that to Christian, a guy that Vince legitimately did not see money in and they're worlds apart.

Usually people are upfront about stuff with everybody except the person that's involved...

I thought by Edge's own admission he was close with Eddie and Benoit as well? I also remember seeing him pose in a picture with Kane as well. So he definitely had friends while in the business.

I think Kane is everyone's best friend though. I am certain the Kane character got more evil and sadistic as a rib on the fact Kane is the nicest man ever to live. Didn't Keibler say she found him hot because he was like a real life gentleman from one of the old movies from the 40's?

On the Matt Hardy vs Edge rivalries documentary he said he became kind of an outcast after the whole Lita thing.
