He's using politics....
As a surefire way to escape tedious conversations at family get togethers.

Two things from that HHH interview:
1. He's really name-dropping Bill Simmons. I mean, I like Bill Simmons, but it's not like he's the biggest celebrity ever. 2. Can't resist the balls jokes, huh?

I imagine these rematch clauses have expiration dates. Plus Bryan was technically stripped of the title since he wouldn't give it up right? Wouldn't that null any rematch clause?

Something that they think will appease us and instead piss us off even more for insulting our intelligence. Pretty much this. I am totally expecting this to happen on Monday night.

I honestly think it's Reigns going heel or Rock/Sting vs. HHH/Rollins at Mania. That latter option is a more armchair booking. As much as I don't like that Reigns won the rumble, "stripping" him of the slot or having him wrestle a fatal 4 way and lose it would probably do more damage to the guy than winning at Mania and going heel after.

I was actually thinking that HHH would cite Rock's illegal interference (or maybe use the whole Curtis Axel thing for lulz) as an excuse to invalidate the Rumble and somehow set up an Elimination Chamber match at Fast Lane to decide a new number one contender for the title at WrestleMania featuring Reigns, Rollins, Wyatt, Ambrose, Ziggler and Bryan.
They can do some qualifying matches over the next couple of weeks, I'm thinking - Rollins vs. Axel, the Authority thinks they're giving Rollins an easy pick but Axel actually manages to step up and surprise the world by taking Rollins the distance before losing. Reign vs. Big show, just to end this feud once and for all (maybe somehow use it to set-up the Uso's vs. Show/Kane at WrestleMania). Cena vs. Wyatt, a big win for Wyatt, even with a little help from Rusev, would go a long way in building him up for the Undertaker, as well as help push the upcoming Cena-Rusev program. Ambrose vs. Kane, because the Authority has to try and fail to get as many of their guys into the match as possible. Ziggler vs. Barrett, again, just to end this feud once and for all. Bryan vs. Rusev, because the Authority believe there's no way in hell Bryan will actually beat Rusev, but once again Bryan finds a way to shock the world.
Then Fast Lane would look something like this - The Elimination Chamber Cena vs. Rusev, which ends in some kind of indecisive finish (Double DQ?) to set up rematches. You might be able to build up just enough credibility for Axel to do Barrett vs. Axel for the IC Title. If not then Barrett vs. Ryback. The Uso's vs. Goldust and Stardust, the Rhodes Brothers last shot at the tag titles before going their separate ways (I think they should save an Uso's-Ascension program for after WM). New Day vs. Big Show and Kane in a Handicap Match, just to give Show and Kane something to do. Divas Title Match Maybe Sandow vs. Miz
And that would lead into my idea for WrestleMania - Lesnar vs. Bryan for the Title Sting/Cena/Orton vs. HHH/Rollins/Rusev Taker vs. Wyatt Uso's vs. Show/Kane Ambrose vs. a heel turned Reigns Barrett vs. Ziggler Ladder Match? Divas Match Andre Battle Royal

What they may do is act all dastardly toward Reigns as 'punishment' for the Rock intervening. That's what they'll call the controversy, that the Rock jumped in; so they'll go full Authority on Reigns in the hopes that that garners sympathy for Roman.

It should address that Big Show and Kane failed him at the Royal Rumble and failed him again at Smackdown. Therefore, he needs some new blood in the Authority. One spot goes to Sheamus. The other spot is offered to Reigns. Reigns turns heel and accepts prior to Wrestlemania. At Wrestlemania, Reigns beats Lesnar. Rollins comes out to cash in. HHH tries to stop him from doing so, but Daniel Bryan and Ziggler fresh off their match and show of respect come down and help Rollins take down HHH and Reigns and the rest of the goons. Stephanie tries to run into the ring to cause a DQ, but Paul Heyman who is still ringside stops her. Wrestlemania ends with Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and Paul Heyman celebrating Rollins' championship win in the ring. On RAW, Heyman cuts a Heyman promo slamming Vince McMahon and the stooges that are going to inherit his company for being incompetent and not realizing the talent they have when it is right under their noses. He says that in order to save professional wrestling, he has to burn it all to the ground and rebuild with the guys who have earned their spots and the fans respect. Rollins then addresses why he would give up being the Authority's golden boy...because it was best for business. Seth Rollins' business. He states that HHH should have known he would jump to a greater opportunity should a need arise, just like Rollins' knew that HHH would end their partnership when it became convenient for him. When Reigns and Sheamus joined him, Rollins saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to wait around to get the knife in his back the way HBK, Orton, and Batista had before. So he decided to form an alliance with guys that he also was smart enough to see as the future of the business and with a man that has always been on the cutting edge. He finishes by saying that this alliance will be a very dangerous one. Dangerous Alliance is born. Shirts are made. Shirts are sold as a Rollins/Bryan/Ziggler team satisfies all possible fan bases. They end up feuding with the Authority and other top stars whose time have come and gone (Orton, Cena). So, I should skip the part where HHH, after watching everyone else fail for months, relents and sends HIS "youth movement" after them. This group consisting of Owens/Balor/Zayn?

But in the storyline you propose it would basically be WWE admitting within kayfabe that Vince is out of touch with his audience and doesn't have what it takes anymore, so that isn't going to happen.

The announcement will be "I am HHH, we are always right, so knock it off with the controversy!"
This will fail tremendously.

It's a shot in the dark but re-do the Royal Rumble. And change NOTHING... although for cost sake the role of Rock will now be played by Sandow.
