I love the Hulkster, he's the reason I love wrestling but he needs to stop trying to push this because I don't see it happening.

There's no way WWE would put him in the ring. He can't even take a bump, he's done.

Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin are mirror opposites. And for me, they are an interesting look into the world of nostalgia.
Listen to Austin on recent podcasts, his own and on Wade Kellers show. Austin has no desire to get back into the ring. He still loves the business but has left it behind and crucially, unlike the Randy the Rams of this world, is able to leave it behind. He will never wrestle again, and he knows he doesnt need to. He doesnt need to risk his health to be in the limelight again. He keeps his name out there because he has MOVED ON to new things. He is still popular and has an excellent podcast, does movie bits and hosts reality TV shows, plus the odd WWE appearance. Plus he's happier just driving round his ranch with his dogs shooting deer and drinking beer.
Hogan (Flair et al) are on the other end of that spectrum. They cannot let the past go at all. They crave one more moment, not realising that it is never going to be as big or as good as it was in their heydays. They are living backwards. Hogan is constantly Hogan, not Terry Bollea. He always dresses like Hulk Hogan, he always is Hulk Hogan; the wrestler with the largest arms in the world, and nothing else. I feel bad for him that he cannot move on. Even with his return to WWE, being an ambassador is not enough, he needs the spotlight again. To a degree, a small degree I agree with him: Vince just using him to shill is lame. Surely Vince could use him for something else. But that doesn't mean Hulkter should be wrestling at 61.
That's another thing, Austin at 50 is happily retired. Hogan is still not letting go and he is more than a decade older.

Hogan: McMahon, what should I say to the millions of screaming Hulkamaniacs who want to see me wrestle one more time? Vince: Never. Say never. Hogan: That's the exactly what I wanted to hear, brother!

I'm pretty sure Hogan and Flair are just broke. It has nothing to do with the "limelight", they need money.

Hogan: That's the exactly what I wanted to hear, brother! Very good! I laughed! *Hulk limps triumphantly out of Vinces office, stopping to catch his breath as he pulls the door closed. He pats Triple H on the back as he passes him in the corridor* Hogan: I'm getting one more run on top, brother. It´s official, dude!

Could you imagine the fallout from a present day Hulk Hogan match, one bad bump and he'll likely spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, not paralysed but in near constant pain because of the damage done to his back. He's also super litigious these days as he needs the money so will spend the next 10 years suing Vince, the WWE and whatever poor sap he had to work with, heck, he may sue if he just doesn't feel he got the payoff he deserves so all in all it'll be a PR nightmare so it's just not worth the risk for any of the parties involved.

How about no Hulkster wrestling ever again. Please WWE, don't enable him to have one last match.

What I think would be cool is down the road (Maybe next year?) you have a Team Hogan Vs Team Piper match in a 4 on 4 match or something. You have Hulk Hogan team up with a main event face and two midcard faces to take on Roddy Piper, a main event heel and a couple of midcard heels.
Of course the six guys who are young and able would handle a majority of the workload. You'd have Hogan and Piper tag in at the end, Hogan hulks up on him, punch, punch, punch and the big boot. He nails a leg drop (I know he struggles to do it but with a years preparation maybe he could) and he pins Piper for the victory.
That one I would be okay with. A singles match (Which I think Hogan wants) would be terrible.

I don't care what he says. Hogan needs to stay out of that ring. I don't care how many back surgeries you had that "fixed" your back, that doesn't me you can take bumps just because you pain level is down. I saw all the TNA stuff and the stuff you said then. Like the steel rods in your back was the last draw that you for sure couldn't wrestle again. Yeah ok, so now all of sudden that doesn't matter?
If the WWE was smart they watch that whole finding Hulk Hogan again where he is taking a fist full of pills just so he can move. I'm sure it hasn't changed because half the stuff he said he taking them for doesn't just go away.
Just because you can hit the gym and look good doesn't me you can do something. Bruno Sammartino still looked amazing but we don't see him jumping in the ring for a match. Hogan just stick with what you doing and collect pay check and LEARN how to budget money. Half what you do anyway just trying to live the Hollywood style which it's great but most unnecessary. . The other have is yeah going to the ex.

I'd be okay with Hogan & Cena vs Rusev & somebody else at WrestleMania.

Not because I don't miss him, because I do, but I'd rather miss something as opposed to see something suffer. Granted, if Austin wanted he could still probably get a halfway decent match. But he doesn't need to. One of my biggest issues with Austin for the longest time even after he retired was he stuck around too long. Whether it was co-GM or sheriff or those "surprise returns with nothing more than stunners", it felt like it was wasting my time. Over the last 8 or so years, Austin has been a lot more careful with his appearances. And in a way, it makes it feel a LOT more special. I'll tune in if I see him every one to two years, but not every one to two months. A lot of people can learn something from Austin. I can't remember if it was Blanchard or Orndorff, but they were correct. There is life after wrestling.

Hogan is wrestling through and through. I admire that. I wouldn't have him any other way. He's Hulk Hogan - he IS this industry even today to the majority of the general public. I wouldn't want him to do anything that risks his health though.

I can't remember if it was Blanchard or Orndorff, but they were correct. There is life after wrestling. Good points. Apart from the last few years, like the segment with Hulk and Rock, I've always hated Austins post in ring career appearances. I think I hated them because as a huge Austin mark, it hurt knowing that the segments were never gonna lead to anything and that the Austin of old wasn't 'truly' back. I also used to be concerned that to the young fans of today who don't know a lot about Stone Cold, that they would think he was just a referee. "Why's that bald referee doing an RKO but landing on his butt?" That's not a shot at kid fans, its not like I knew anything about Superstar Billy Graham as a Hulkamaniac. It's rather, that he did SO much lame guest refereeing I was concerned he would be remembered for that. When people on forums still suggest he guest referees matches at future Wretlemanias I just think "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I'd rather him not be at Mania, or just do a segment, or hell, wrestle a match, but no more refereeing! When I see him come out now, I enjoy it for what it is. The crowd always loves to see him on his rare appearances. He still looks great, though I will never get used to seeing him in dad jeans and trainers. I miss the knee braces, black boots and jean shorts. But thats just me.

Say his back is feeling better. Say he genuinely does feel good and has a lot less pain. That's great, that means he can live another few decades in relative comfort. Hogan sees it as a sign that he can take flat back bumps again. Think long term Hogan
