He can't even take a bump, he's done. Didn't stop them putting Bret Hart in a match Yeah, and look at the results...that was f***ing terrible. Let's not repeat that, please.

Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin are mirror opposites. And for me, they are an interesting look into the world of nostalgia. Listen to Austin on recent podcasts, his own and on Wade Kellers show. Austin has no desire to get back into the ring. He still loves the business but has left it behind and crucially, unlike the Randy the Rams of this world, is able to leave it behind. He will never wrestle again, and he knows he doesnt need to. He doesnt need to risk his health to be in the limelight again. He keeps his name out there because he has MOVED ON to new things. He is still popular and has an excellent podcast, does movie bits and hosts reality TV shows, plus the odd WWE appearance. Plus he's happier just driving round his ranch with his dogs shooting deer and drinking beer. Hogan (Flair et al) are on the other end of that spectrum. They cannot let the past go at all. They crave one more moment, not realising that it is never going to be as big or as good as it was in their heydays. They are living backwards. Hogan is constantly Hogan, not Terry Bollea. He always dresses like Hulk Hogan, he always is Hulk Hogan; the wrestler with the largest arms in the world, and nothing else. I feel bad for him that he cannot move on. Even with his return to WWE, being an ambassador is not enough, he needs the spotlight again. To a degree, a small degree I agree with him: Vince just using him to shill is lame. Surely Vince could use him for something else. But that doesn't mean Hulkter should be wrestling at 61. That's another thing, Austin at 50 is happily retired. Hogan is still not letting go and he is more than a decade older. Great Now I'm just imagining Austin with a pack of dogs , hiding behind trees ready to open a can of Whoop Ass

I don't care what he says. Hogan needs to stay out of that ring. I don't care how many back surgeries you had that "fixed" your back, that doesn't me you can take bumps just because you pain level is down. I saw all the TNA stuff and the stuff you said then. Like the steel rods in your back was the last draw that you for sure couldn't wrestle again. Yeah ok, so now all of sudden that doesn't matter? If the WWE was smart they watch that whole finding Hulk Hogan again where he is taking a fist full of pills just so he can move. I'm sure it hasn't changed because half the stuff he said he taking them for doesn't just go away. Just because you can hit the gym and look good doesn't me you can do something. Bruno Sammartino still looked amazing but we don't see him jumping in the ring for a match. Hogan just stick with what you doing and collect pay check and LEARN how to budget money. Half what you do anyway just trying to live the Hollywood style which it's great but most unnecessary. . The other have is yeah going to the ex. I don't understand Hogan. Say his back is feeling better. Say he genuinely does feel good and has a lot less pain. That's great, that means he can live another few decades in relative comfort. Hogan sees it as a sign that he can take flat back bumps again. Think long term Hogan That the thing with Hogan, he doesn't think long term, he thinks only how can he make enough money to live the Hulk Hogan life he lived when he was in his prime. Guys like him and Flair don't know how to slow down and think life after wrestling. They still think they are in there 30s and spend money like they had the money coming in like they did at the same time. They problem is neither can wrestle like that and make that money. The fact that Hogan in some reports claiming he wants to be champion again. Really? Just because your back feels good doesn't mean you can take flat back bumps or work the way the fans want there champion too work. As in once a month at less in the ring. A lot of fans hated that Brock was MIA without a site or mention for over two months. At less Brock matches are good to help make up for it but I seriously don't think Hogan can do half what he could do even in 05 when he faced HBK. Which even back then he was barely watchable in the ring.

Hogan beats Rusev for the U.S. Title with help from Cena and The Rock. he loses it back to him a month later when a Russian photographer's camera explodes in Hogan's face

I'm pretty sure even his biggest fans don't want to see him wrestle. Either he's delusional or he thinks claiming another match is on the horizon makes him relevant. If it's the latter, it's misguided. He's a living legend. His legacy will always make him relevant. If he must have one more match, how bout this - next Survivor Series put him on a team with Cena, Rock and Austin. It could be the ultimate death blow for the Authority consisting of HHH, Big Show, Kane and Batista.

If Hogan can job to Rusev in a way that doesn't risk him being seriously hurt, it'd be a great way to get the guy even more hated and over as a heel. Outside of that and maybe a tag match at Survivor Series with the legends or something (Cena/Orton included), I don't think it's wise to really get more matches out of Hulk at this point.

Here is a comprehensive list of all of Hogan's surgeries:
• 1998 - knee surgery - left. • 1999 - knee surgery - left (removal of bone spurs). • 2001 - knee surgery - left. • October 2003 - knee surgery - left (reshaping and repositioning of kneecap). • 2004 - full hip replacement. • 2005 - full knee replacement - left. • February 2009 - back surgery (laser spine procedure). • July 2009 - elbow and shoulder surgery. • August 2009 - back surgery (laser spine procedure). • May 2010 - back surgery (removal of bone spurs). • September 5, 2010 - back surgery (lumbar radiofrequency ablation). • September 28, 2010 - back surgery (temporary spinal cord stimulator implanted into his back). • October 2010 - back surgery (permanent spinal cord stimulator implanted into his back). • December 2010 - back surgery (spine straightening, spine fusion). • October 2011 - dental surgery (sinus graft). • January 2012 - dental surgery (removal of metal tack accidentally left in from previous operation). • July 2012 - knee and hip surgery. • February 2013 - knee surgery - right. • March 2013 - knee surgery - right (told knee will need replacing). • May 2013 - debridement of burned skin on left hand. • July 2013 - back surgery (removal of spinal cord stimulator).
How someone with that many operations, especially on his back (which at this stage is mostly a solid piece of bone held in place by a metal rod), can even consider getting back in the ring astounds me.

Wow. That's really sad and scary to see he's had that many surgeries. He wasn't never dangerous in the ring, a high flyer, or bumping like say Jeff Hardy or Terry Funk. So to see him with that many surgeries is just mind boggling. To his credit his return in 2002 was very awesome and produced some great matches with Angle, Jericho, and Lesnar. He had a full knee replacement in 2005, came back for a match against Shawn that same year and it was pretty good too. Yeah, he needs to let it go.

So to see him with that many surgeries is just mind boggling. A lot of the damage to his back is simply a combination of someone his size performing the leg drop tens of thousands of times over several decades, and makes the suggestion from earlier in the thread that he could still do it one last time with enough preparation completely asinine. Honestly, if he'd just used the Big Boot or Axe Bomber as his finisher he'd probably not have a quarter of the issues he does now.
