Cancellations and "shocking" decisions from Didio? Keep your f***ing hands off Dick Grayson. If Grayson's one of the cancellations, Nightwing better come back. Dick is one of those characters we shouldn't have to worry about, but this is Didio.

With respects to Dan Didio........ I think HE is a big part of the problem at DC, and under his regime the DCU has just been all over the place. Crisis after Crisis after Crisis, vast changes to characters and then reversals, relaunch / reboot, then a soft reversal of that relaunch/reboot, now another headache on the horizon....
DC's successes have come from the creators and their actions (Morrison's BATMAN, Snyder & Capullo's BATMAN, Johns' GL, 52), moreso than editorial.

Anyway, sounds like interesting times ahead for DC. By interesting, sounds more like "same old same old bleh." One of the early tidbits regarding the new DC initiative is that Captain Atom is supposedly getting another series. Because that's what we were all yearning for - Captain Atom. -_- (Although another tidbit is that Booster Gold's finally getting another series - some may say the same as I said about CA, but I really liked Booster's revival post-Infinite Crisis and have been waiting for another ongoing...) Someone commented at BleedingCool that this whole new "DC You" initiative was NOT of Didio's creation (couldn't tell since he was hyping it as much as anyone else if not more), so much of that will probably be scrapped. Prez Vol.2 (the initial 12-issue series cut in half so it could benefit from 2 #1's) is probably a goner now. Hopefully Starfire will be safe. I think Grayson, which does sell quite well, will be safe, unless the higher ups REALLY require Dick to be Nightwing again. And all this also means I'd better get Bat-Mite's miniseries now just in case, because DC's even proven TPBs can be easily cancelled too.

I was talking about the company itself. Also hte whole talk of focusing on Trades... maybe this means DC will actually put them out quicker than 18 months after the fact and only having like 4 issues The next DC event - DC: Financial Crisis

The solicit for GoI indicates it's part current GOTG and part other GOTG's (classic, G3000, etc)..........I know my GOTG history a bit, but I've never seen those other 3 people not named Rocket, Drax and Groot before ever.
There's another new GOTG being promised in this book (Guardians 1000?) so maybe that's them?

Marvel released a list of their TPBs and HCs for early 2016 (going up to......April, I believe). www.comicsbeat.com/coming-attractions-marvel-announces-graphic-novels-for-early-2016/I'm sorta surprised we'll still be getting Secret Wars mini trades released as far out as February. Thought for sure much of that would be out by Christmas; although with SW now ending in December I guess it makes a bit more sense.... Also I think the solicits have been the only way Marvel's really announced how long a lot of these miniseries are lasting. We're seeing a lot more "to be concluded" in books this month, but sneaky on their part.

Gah, it just occurred to me that (before it ended last month) FABLES was the last DC ongoing comic with triple digit numbering...

What the.....?! What an refreshingly eclectic group there. I wonder if there'll be other non-Spidey folks of that ilk involved (since I didn't really think Starbrand & Nightmask would really be connected to the Spiderverse). And this certainly gives hope that certain USM characters beyond Miles have survived Secret Wars.... EDIT: Heh. Weisman just non-chalantly name drops a Peter Parker schoolmate from UNTOLD TALES and a former member of CODE:BLUE in that article. And I now get why it's so Spidey character heavy......Empire State U is the setting.

I guess it depends on what it is they like... and what exactly DC ends up dropping.
But it is a tough spot to be in...
since even if they are popular they still lost 2 million dollars.

Reading over the sales report for July yesterday, DC took A LOT of hits across the board. The newer titles very much lost a lot, so if anything'll go it's a lot of that stuff. Which is unfortunate because I find more interesting in the pages of PREZ and STARFIRE than anything in a Superman or even Bat title. If LOBO survives, though, then there's just no explanation, as it's currently the lowest selling ongoing (under 20k).
