I seem to remember when Subway first came out, they food being pretty decent. Not great, but it was a good sandwich to eat every now and again.
I went there the other day and it was horrible.
Maybe it was never good, I dunno...

Maybe it was never good, I dunno... Some of the stuff is pretty good. But most of the meat is incredibly dry and bland. But holy shit their Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches are way way way way better then I expected.

I still enjoy a Meatball Marinara from there every now and again.

I prefer Jimmy Johns or Firehouse, but from time to time I will pick up a meatball marinara if it's more convenient to go to Subway.

I love their chopped salads, and their chiptole southwesst sauce. That's basically all I eat from there, so I can't comment on anything else.

It's fine, at least on par with other fast food choices.

Spicy Italian and Italian BMT are tough to beat convenience-wise....prices are good for how big you can make/customize the sandwich.

I always like their sandwiches depending on what I have put in there.

$5 12" meatball is the best deal.

It's to sandwich places what McDonalds is to fast food joints. Simple and decent for what you pay. But there are better spots out there if you don't mind paying another dollar or two. Nonetheless, like McDonalds, it's got name value and will likely be around for awhile.

I have Gardein and Boca vegetarian meats at home, so when I go to Subway, I make a veggie sub with sweet onion sauce (the most awesome condiment ever), and then I microwave the veggie meat substitutes at home to put in the sandwich. Great stuff.

Jimmy Johns and Publix Subs are 1000 times better.

I can really only get a meatball or tuna sub there anymore. If I'm in the mood for any other sub, I'll take my business to Jimmy John's, Capriotti's, Firehouse Subs, or Which Wich.

My boyfriend always wants to go to Subway since it's cheap and convenient, but I really don't care for it. I'd rather get Firehouse, but it's a bit of a drive, so we only get it if we're out in that area. Plus, it pisses me off that every time outside of the first, whenever I try to order broccoli and cheese soup from Subway, they never had it. The worst time was when it was specifically advertised on the board as "today's soup", but it turned out they just hadn't bothered to change it from the previous day. This was around 2pm.

I only go to Subway now because there's one on the campus I go to and I can use my meal plan for it. In other words I only go to Subway because it's the cheapest (not by much anymore) and it's the most accessible for me. As far a and what sub place is better, I'd go with Firehouse or Which Wich. Jimmy Johns is good if you are in a hurry and need something now or if you pass by one during a road trip. I've always liked JJs get in and get out as fast as possible style.

I will never support Jimmy John's, as their CEO is one of worst people on Earth (look up the awful crap he's done).

Eh, it's cheap and if you get a basic cold cut with loaded veggies you won't feel like ass like going to other fast food joints. Don't know if it's actually healthy, but I don't feel like I've f***ed my system like if I went to McDonald's.

As far a and what sub place is better, I'd go with Firehouse or Which Wich. Ha, I just tried Which Wich for the very first time about an hour ago. It's great! We were actually talking about how much better it is than Subway, albeit more expensive
