Seems like a booking tool they could never use. Bonus points if its not the Iron man match between Angle and HBK on Raw homecoming

I have thought this for a while. Instead of these non title matches where when as soon as you hear those words you know who is losing, that gives them another out that doesn't make the champ look like a damn jobber.
No not every week, but an occasionally time limit draw would definitely help out occasionally.

No not every week, but an occasionally time limit draw would definitely help out occasionally. Much like distraction finishes, I simply don't trust WWE to not abuse that. They'd just use it as an excuse to have guys wrestle each other a bunch on tv and expect people to magically give a damn and order the ppv or subscribe to the network to see them wrestle yet again. I'm sick of almost every ppv match being a part of a series of 5 or so matches. I understand what you're saying and it's not like I disagree, but WWE just can't help themselves.

Great ass question. The last time I even recall it being mentioned was late '98 during a Mankind match. Oddly, given that even then it stood out, it lead to no shenanigans as far as I can recall.

Beat the Clock challenge match I guess now that I'm thinking about it That's about the only time you will see a match with a time limit at all (aside from Iron Mans), so that has to be it.

Ok shitty fantasy booking time.
How bout turning the U.S. or IC title into a TV title like old school NWA. 10 minute time limits, defended every monday night at 9:30. Next weeks challenger match later at like 10:20 or something so the loser can try again. Work the time limit into the whole thing. Smarmy annoying heel taunting his challengers they can't beat him. They really are destroying him but can't get the pin in 10 minutes. That kinda thing.
Makes it appointment television on the show every week if done right cause you know when it's gonna be on and hopefully gets people interested in the midcard guys. If it bombs it bombs but would give the non storyline guys something to do.

As long as they don't announce it, it works. If two guys are gonna go broadway, leave it as a surprise like Cena/HBK. It's more natural, that way.

Honestly I consider it just as much of a waste of my time as when a 20 minute match ends in a DQ or something. And they're so ridiculously huge on those these days that I'm really not inclined to give them a reason to do it more.

Even as a kid I hated time limit draws.
I think the ONE time it worked was Sting/Flair. For the most part though, it always felt like a waste of everyone's time.

If they are going to incorporate time limit draws, the ideal scenario would be to start announcing time limits for all matches, but not have a single match actually go to a draw for at least six months, so that it doesn't come out of nowhere, but at the same time, the mere announcement of a time limit doesn't automatically signal a draw.
Besides, how many matches on Raw would even break a 5 minute time limit?

I have never liked time limit draws the same effect can be accomplished with a double count out in way less time.

I remember on WCW Worldwide the Kat had a gimmick where he would ask the time keeper for how fast he won and sometimes would say "I'm going to win in 8 min or less" [not exactly like that he said it with more flair]
