Panthers released RB DeAngelo Williams.
A source close to Adrian Peterson said the running back "will never play another game for the Vikings."
According to reports, Peterson's agent Ben Dogra had to be restrained from Vikings VP of football operations Rob Brzezinski last week at the Combine after the two exchanged words

ESPN's Todd McShay is saying that Jameis Winston is his 2nd-highest rating QB of the last decade (presumably behind only Andrew Luck).

ESPN's Todd McShay is saying that Jameis Winston is his 2nd-highest rating QB of the last decade (presumably behind only Andrew Luck). In terms of physical gifts, I don't think there's anyone doubting Jameis Winston's abilities. His biggest flaw is everything that happens when he's not between those chalk lines on game days, and that's what teams should be concerned with more than his 40-yard-dash time or how well he threw the ball at the combine. JaMarcus Russell wowed people with his combine just as Winston impressed everyone with his. But like Winston, Russell's red flags off the field were glaring and within two years he was out of the NFL. If Jameis Winston doesn't get his head screwed on straight and have a serious come-to-Jesus moment - and at this point in his life, I think it's too late for that - he could be destined for the same NFL fate as Russell.

Maybe on "underwear numbers" but even disregarding the huge red flags of his off field troubles the dude made a ton of questionable throws into coverage his entire career at FSU. I don't see how any team can take him that high with the risks involved for his off field issues anyways. Do magic, Bucs.

If Jameis Winston doesn't get his head screwed on straight and have a serious come-to-Jesus moment - and at this point in his life, I think it's too late for that - he could be destined for the same NFL fate as Russell. My co-worker and I were just talking about Russell today. He had read something from a sports journalist who covered the Detroit Lions who recounted a conversation he had with then-Lions GM Matt Millen. He said that they brought in Russell before the 2007 draft (the Lions had the #2 pick) to do some pre-draft interviews. He said that Russell arrived on time for the interview, someone gave him a brief tour of the facilities at Ford Field and then led him to Millen's office. After just a couple of minutes of talking he noticed that Russell kept checking his watch and asked him if he (Russell) had someplace he needed to get to. Russell insisted he did not but started checking his watch just a few minutes later. Millen suggested that Russell should go ahead and go see Coach Marinelli to have his scheduled interview with him, but privately deciding that Russell was too much of a meathead to use the #2 draft on. He said that a few minutes later he noticed Russell milling around on the field after Marinelli also quickly dismissed him from his meeting. It apparently took less than 20 minutes for him to completely turn off both coach and GM (the Lions used that pick on Calvin Johnson, one of Millen's few good moves, but apparently he would not have made the mistake of drafting Russell had Johnson not been available).

It's also gonna depend on where he lands. JaMarcus would have been IMHO 10-15 percent less disastrous if he landed anywhere but the Raiders, who were at their nadir of ineffectiveness.

Cleveland presents new logos for the team. Well, "new" being a relative term.

I'm glad they didn't put a logo on the helmet but I still hate that they're changing uniforms. No team with a classic look should change it. Hell I wish the Rams would go back to their 1973-1999 uniforms because they're iconic.

Hell I wish the Rams would go back to their 1973-1999 uniforms because they're iconic. I love that the Colts have to go back 60 years to use a throwback uniform. Granted, other than the Steelers' 1934 throwbacks I tend to prefer the throwback uniforms (I even have a soft spot for the Creamsicle uniforms), so any team with a classic look should never change as far as I am concerned. Most new uniforms are terrible (though I totally dig the Vikings new helmet).

Cleveland presents new logos for the team. Well, "new" being a relative term. It'll take some getting used to, that's for sure. However, I like the Dawg Pound logo.
