Just so we can have the 3DS Friend Codes in the first post (hopefully)...
Mine is 4613-8638-6097.
Might change because I don't know how the switchover works when I get the New 3DSXL next week.

It's a good thing when I was able to transfer my data from the busted 3DS to my new 2DS, I brought the friend code with it.
So, no need to change.

When it comes to the new 3DS, I'll likely wait on it for a bit, since I really still have my old one and it still works fine.
However, if all goes well at the end of the month I should be getting a Wii U. No plans on getting in on the Amiibo craze though

Hey Canadian and American Amiibo seekers. Someone made a site to check stock automatically on them. amiibotrackr.com/It's not perfect but still... edit: it appears UK also... originally I only saw the US and Canadian Flags but the Union Jack is there now.

So, did I miss this, but Xenoblade Chronicles will have Amiibo support: Also, this Amiibo stuff has to end, not because they seem pretty useless, but because it will lead to someone's death.

So I ordered a Wii U and it's coming in the morning. Got the deluxe console bundle with Mario Kart 8, also ordered the bundle of the 2 bayonetta games after being impressed by metal gear rising by the same developer.
I was going to get myself the New 3DS XL, but then I realised I didn't really bring my original model 3ds out anywhere with me and it was mainly to game on when I couldn't be bothered sitting at my desk and wanted to relax in bed, the gamepads screen should come in handy for this, whats the quality of the screen like? does it work in most games this way?
I have an amplifier I want to connect my console to, am I right in assuming I can run the hdmi cable to my monitor and then have the 2 audio component leads from the AV cable going to the amp? it worked that way with previous consoles I've owned.
I plan to get the 2 yakuza games on the eshop soon, I guess I'll probably end up picking up some old snes and N64 games on the eshop too.
any recommendations of anything decent for the Wii u that's not available on PC I should be playing?
I was a huge fan of Super Mario 3d Land on the 3DS is 3D world worth picking up? also what unreleased games should be on my radar? any decent RPG's planned?

Just checked and you can have the audio sent from another cable than the video one, but you'll need the cable for it as the Wii U only comes with an HDMI cable (if you have an original Wii, you can use the output cable on that). If the Wii U doesn't automatically do this, then the option is in System Settings -> TV -> TV Audio-Output Type -> Output-Cable Settings. Relating to the Gamepad, I think the quality is very good as the video looks sharp (although it isn't as sharp as if you have a nice HDTV) and there's no lag (I had no issues playing the Bayonetta 2 demo using only the Gamepad). The real negative is the battery life, which depending on your brightness setting, can last just a handful of hours before needing to plug it in. As for gameplay with the pad, it depends on the game. Most of the games I've played just use the second screen as a simulcast of what's on the TV, so you can turn the TV off and just play with the Gamepad (Super Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2 and Pushmo World are like this). Other games allow you to swap at a menu (so you can choose between the TV having the main game and the Gamepad displaying extra stuff like your inventory or access to commands or other stuff like that, simulcasting on both or having the game on the Gamepad and the display being off). So far, I know that Wonderful 101 and Hyrule Warriors is like this. There are some games that force the game to be on the TV (stuff like Nintendo Land and Wii Sports U) as the Gamepad is used by one player for asynchronous multiplayer. As for games on the Wii U, it's mostly just Nintendo stuff you should be looking at as they're the only ones making stuff that's interesting for the system. I have Super Mario 3D World and I think it's a great game and, from what I understand, it's like 3D Land, so it should be up your alley.
