Sony announced they’re acquiring Insomniac Games. Not super shocking but this is probably their response to Microsoft’s acquisitions. That's a real good get. Now their big three PS2 platformer studio collection is complete.

Also on the Insomniac front, Sony revealed that Spider-Man has sold 13.2 million copies, the second highest PS4 exclusive sold ever (number 1 is Uncharted 4 with 15M).
It's crazy that Sony is going to pretty much hand these guys a blank check for Spider-Man 2.

Welp, guess I can play all the Yakuza games in order now. Oh, good, 60 FPS. That's always the most important thing. Shame they're not full-on, "Kiwami" style remakes, though. Though maybe they feel they don't need to add anything to 3, 4, and 5. Think I'll try to hold out until the Physical release (assuming that NA will get one).

From what I remember at E3 last year (I think), the developers said in an interview that they didn't need to do anything with the other 3 and were always planned to just be upgraded versions of the original games.

Yeah, it just would have been neat for them to sneak more obscure arcade games in as mini-games, after Judgment got Motor Raid.

Really quick, what is the Yakuza chronology?
I got Yakuza Kiwami from PS Plus last December and really liked it. Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 have been in my interests since I heard they had New Japan wrestlers in there.
So, Yakuza 0 is on sale, is that a prequel to the Yakuza series?
And the two Yakuza Kiwami games are Yakuza 1 and 2 but significantly upgraded for the new platform?
And then this re-release of 3,4 and 5 are more or less the same game as their recent predecessors, but not enough of an overhaul to qualify to be a Kiwami?
As someone new to the series, would these all be different games with no overlap:
Yakuza 0 Yakuza Kiwami Yakuza Kiwami 2 Yakuza 3 Yakuza 4 Yakuza 5 Yakuza 6

Well, that's how I'm going to play them anyway. The Kiwami games (Basically 1 and 2) were on PS2 so they were ripe for some kind of next-gen update whilst 3,4 and 5 were on PS3 so don't need as much work. And honestly, that's my plan for it. The more complicated thing about how different both Kiwamis are from one another is Kiwami was developed on its own engine and Kiwami 2 was developed on the Yakuza 6 engine so consider that a preview of 6.

I should try these Yakuza games, aren't they sort of a spiritual successor to Shenmue?
I have such a huge damn backlog already though.

Tried playing some Salt & Sanctuary again tonight. The Tree of Men boss quickly reminded me why I quit playing this game. I cannot beat it.

Detroit: Become Human is good. Each of the three stories is interesting, Kara's has a The Last of Us feel, which is great.
So much better than Beyond. I put off playing Detroit because Beyond sucked. Glad I gave it a try.
