This stupidity is 1000% being done because of the report the other day that PSN and Xbox Live have seen virtually no growth over the past year.

I guess I lucked out on holding off on buying EAFC24. How is this? I've heard/read a lot of negative about it. I love my football games but I checked out after a week or two. It's years since either of the big 2 produced something great although I did enjoy PES 2021 season update enough to stick with it for a few months.

Downloaded as Dusk Falls as it gave me Life of Strange vibes.
It's a good game--it gives the impression that your choices matter a lot and will have different outcomes overall, whilst still hitting some of the key story beats, just them playing out in different ways. It also makes the choices a bit difficult because most of the characters so far are a bit shades of gray and have reasons for their good and bad choices that they make.
On the downside--one of my BIGGEST gaming dislikes. Unskippable dialogue. It pretty much ensures that I am not going to replay the game because it is pretty much all dialogue and I can;t be arsed to sit through a conversation I have already seen. Just add a skip dialogue button. It isn't difficult. There is no excuse not to include one in games, yet so many games leave it out... usually because the pretentious developer and writers don't want their dialogue skipping.

Started Baldur's Gate 3
Right off the bat something annoyed me. No pause button--pressed pause, it brought up the pase screen and options etc, yet the conversation f***ing carried on. What a shit load of f***. I am an adult. I have other responsibilities and things that need doing. Just let me hit pause so I can answer the door or nip to the shop or answer whatever the wife is calling for or stop my rabbit from destroying something without missing what's going on.
Other than that, seems a good game so far.

I gave that a look at one point and just kind of immediately noped out of it entirely because its art style reminded me way too much of Tom Goes to the Mayor.

It took a while for me to get used to the art and animation, but the game is pretty good with a solid story. I recommend it, if you can get it on sale. Especially if you enjoyed stuff like Life is Strange. It's more of a visual novel/interractive adventure crossed with point and click (to a small degree) than Life is Strange is, but the choices and story certainly give me a Life is Strange feel.

I am enjoying Baldur's Gate a lot. But I can see it being a massive time sink--the game feels huge. I have around 12 hours play time and and am still dealing with the druids and the refugees yet keep getting side tracked by other side quests and areas to explore.
Not a bad thing because so far, the side quests are a lot of fun with fun characters--such as helping the Goblin Sazza (I wish she could become a companion--she was great) and now going to get a "cure" from the shiftiest "Auntie" in the world.

I find it funny the Costco I work at had the Spider-man 2 bundle of the fat PS5 for 530 with an extra controller at one point. The slim one comes in with not extra game and its 50 bucks more.

I think they're all slim? Biggest visual difference between the old and slim models is the white plates. On the fat model, it's one solid plate on each side. On the slim, they're separated on half.
