Finished RE: Village tonight
Wasn’t a big fan of the Heisenberg fight/Chris section (bit too action heavy) and probably not on level of Biohazard overall but I enjoyed it (The plot reveal sure explained some questions I had thought of whilst playing the game lol)

Jesus Christ, I'm fine with people not liking how the combat looked (despite many of them being the same people that will say that survaval horror combat should be janky) but the amount of people going "why would you make a a combat trailer for Silent Hill" is so f***ing dumb. Bloober never made a game with real combat and everyone knew that because that was one of the concerns brought up with them making a SH2 remake, no shit they made a combat trailer, if there wasn't one they'd be saying why are you hiding the combat. They're also complaining that SH isn't about combat, in a trailer that was mostly atmosphere and locations until the end but.

Rise of the Ronin looks great but I'm not sure if it's something that I'd really be into. Judas, the same.
Until Dawn remaster? Why? I loved the original and I love the Dark Pictures games but these remasters are getting ridiculous now. Last Of Us Part 2 was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.
I just can't get into anything Kojima makes, while visually it looks great it's just all so f***ing boring and he always seems to take up half of whatever show he's on. I liked the little sentient neck gloves though, the weird little half frame rate man, not so much 😂
So yeah, not really anything in this for me. But at least Persona 3 remake and FF7 Rebirth are out soon.

Finished the shadow of rose DLC. Was decent, dunno how I feel about playing as a character with powers though. Have to say though that the mannequin bit of the game was absolutely the highlight. Really great bit of gameplay

So watched a few friends play the new silent hill thing. I thought it was decent. The writing imo was good. Like if you think a friend is going thru something it doesn't hurt to check on them

Until Dawn remaster? Why? I loved the original and I love the Dark Pictures games but these remasters are getting ridiculous now. Last Of Us Part 2 was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Much like Disney's live-action remakes, the gaming companies realised it was a cheap and easy way to make money. They realised there are saps willing to pay for the same game twice because it has an extra scene, a bonus interview with the director where he pretentiously explains that the skull in the background symbolises the main character's strained relationship with their father and slightly better graphics. Why put effort making a new game, when you spent a minimum amount of money tweaking an old one and saps will buy it.

Anyone know of any good games that are like Hades without being Hades? Kind of coming to the conclusion I need to find something else to play when I'm in the mood for it because all of the socialization stuff just kind of tanks it for me, between all the chatter when I really don't give a shit about any of the characters in this cast and how often you get utterly useless rewards that are just to go toward buying a new painting or something which can really serve to tank a run if it happens too often or at the wrong time. Feels like I'd have significantly more fun playing something like it that doesn't have all of the side content bogging it down.

Relying on RNG to produce good results most of the time just isn't gonna happen, unless you're incredibly lucky or find the right deity to start sacrificing goats to.

I don't really mind the RNG element, it's more just the times when the upgrades are solely giving you things for side content. I'm fine with upgrades that aren't ideal, Vampire Survivors can screw you on the RNG all the time but doesn't feel nearly as much like it's wasting your time when it does it, it's just frustrating when it's like, "Choose between a key you don't need and currency you don't need." Minimum use is still better than no use.

Not into Binding of Isaac? Seems overly expensive to get into and not fond of its aesthetic.

What is the Avatar game like?
I got it for Christmas but haven't played it yet. I never watched any of the Avatar films and I often find open world a drag if there is nothing to actually discover other than shitty collectibles (I have mentioned this before but Red Dead 2 and Fallout are how you do Open World--have weird events and side quests to discover. If you don't explore in those games, you miss out on some truly memorable stuff. So many games unfortunately have a massive open but nothing to find other than a pointless collectible)

My biggest pet hate in gaming ... not being able to pause cutscenes. Why is that still a thing?

And Avatar has my SECOND pet hate in gaming.
No manual save. FFS... if the game doesn't want me to save anywhere, fine, at least put save spots in so I can get to one of them and quit. It's something which often makes me quit playing if it leads to me being partway through a mission, quitting because I'm going out for dinner or work or whatever and then discover it hadn't autosaved for half hour.
Just put a f***ing manual save.

System's barely four and the Sony is already calling it old.

System's barely four and the Sony is already calling it old. Even more of a stupid quote since there was a low supply of PS5s in stores during the early years.
