Here's a question? How tall is Abyss in reality? I've never seen someone that can look so tall one minute and then normal height the next. The reason I ask is because he's consistently been billed at 6'8 and I believe as high as 6'10 and when you see him make his entrance, it's very believable, he's genuinely a massive human being. Yet, as soon as the match starts and he comes face to face with his opponent he no longer looks anywhere near as tall, still massive, but no 6'8. So, I guess my question is, is this one of the biggest over reaches in terms of 'wrestling' height and the 6'8 Abyss is actually the 6'2 Abyss or is it more a posture thing (he has that Mankind slump going on) which makes him seem less tall than he actually is if he stood up straight?
And before someone says it, I know, wrestler in height exaggeration shocker.

Just a thought here: TNA tries to use Abyss the way WWE uses Big Show; the guy who can perpetually be booked as a threat to anyone. Much like Abyss, Big Show has been booked into hell repeatedly-but yet he somehow seems to be better at the role than Abyss. A big part of this is simply due to working in WWE over TNA, I'm sure. But I think part of it is also that Big Show is still capable of delivering at least a semi-decent package in the ring. And he probably owes this to the fact that he never made a habit of taking some of the ludicrous bumps Abyss has-and he also took infrequent hiatuses from wrestling to give himself a chance to recover. Abyss has wrecked himself to the point he can't deliver in the ring anymore, and that hurts his credibility as a monster threat.

He's just like Kane. They were pretty badass monsters in their prime and they're both decent on the mic, but along with their bodies clearly wearing down, they've both been nerfed in their storylines so much to where they're slightly less effective than local jobbers.

He's 6'3" and felt Abyss is properly billed at 6'8".

His theme music was one of the only ones of the original TNA guys that was worth a damn.
So there's that.
Abyss was alright, he's a talented guy, but the character has pretty much always been Diet Kane.
