Andre the Giant, who was usually effective in a few words, beating Hulk Hogan for the World World Tag Team Championship.

Some of these are just small flubs and some aren't great microphone guys anyway. For example, Bret and Owen Hart were never great promo guys neither is Matt Hardy and Sid. A good example for this thread would be Raven. Great talker but for some reason both WWE and WCW had him talk less and very much limited what he could say therefore never capitalizing on Raven's speaking ability. They did try and throw him into some big time angles but the limitations and time restrictions hurt him. Sid and Bret could both be great promo guys, but that doesn't mean every promo they did was Jake Roberts quality. I'm not sure why Raven is a great example for this thread if you can't think of any time that he choked.

It is kind of forgotten how over and important he was to the WCW midcard because WWE never even mentions his WCW run. That DDP/Raven feud was hot. Didn't their appearance on MTV do some record setting number?
