I've looked at the picture god knows how many times and all I see is white and gold. I'm really not sure why this is even a debate.
Give me an hour or two.

Well I've just read an article saying it's definitely blue and black according to the person who made it so....I'm pretty damn confused right now.

This constituted my entire morning sports talk program.
It's blue and gold to me.

Regarding the original picture in the OP, I only see white and gold. Gone back to it several times, adjusted brightness settings and angles... and still no change.

I've mostly seen it as blue and black. Sometimes the blue is a more vibrant blue and the dark more dark. Other times the blue is more faded looking and the black looks like it may be a sort of faded brownish orange.
Once however I saw the image posted and it was white with brown and another time it also appears to be those colors however you could barely see some blue. I think people screwing around with the saturation of the picture is making it more difficult to determine if it's just being deliberately recolored. I've not been able to get the exact same post of the image to change color.

Actually, I can see now how people saw it as white and gold. But it took me staring at a picture of it being white and gold for a while then going back to the pic in the OP.
Even then it quickly turned back to black and blue though.

I have to know why the internet cares so much. Aren't there cat videos and trolls on YouTube to get offended over anymore?

seems pretty obviously white and gold to me, although the weird lighting gives the white a vaguely blue-ish tint.
Who the f*** sees black anywhere on that dress?! Is it one of these things like "the game" where people just f*** with you with something completely random?
Also, how did this thing with this picture start? Like, how did it become famous?

f*** that noise. I've looked at this thing a billion times and see nothing but white and gold. They used a shitty Instagram filter or something didn't they?

The only way I might imagine people seeing it black and blue is if their screen's brightness is turned way down. And don't understand how light works.

If you scroll the above side by side photo down so only the bottom quarter of both photos are showing, I see it. The colors are very muted out by the sun's rays hitting the camera creating a very flat color range, but yeah. Huh. Colors, man. how do they work?

I can't deny it's black and blue on the picture on the right but it's still white and gold on the left, so I don't know if it was photoshopped or filtered or they have an amazingly shitty camera or what but that picture, regardless of the actual dress, shows a white and gold one to me. Man, Magritte would have a field day with this and the theme of representation/interpretation vs reality. Ceci n'est pas une robe bleu et noir.

It's a combo of the lighting and the camera probably wasn't properly white balanced, since if you stick the photo into Photoshop it comes out bluish gray and brown.
